FWTR445RFS0 Frigidaire Washer - Instructions

It was a very easy fix. Called a repairman and they wanted 350.00 to come out. Ordered the door lock and switch assembly for 76.00 and it was fixed in 15 minutes. Thank you for shipping the part so fast. Much appreciated.

remove one hose clamp.pulled hose from back of washer.replaced with new hose in same procedure.best of all i had my new hose in two days.great serviceand inventory.

The local appliance repair store quoted me $80+ for a "kit" to repair the door catch. I saw the part on your website for less than $8. Even with rushed shipping (I have four boys who generate lots of laundry), it was only about $20 total. You guys are AWESOME! Removed spring retainer straps from top of springs. Propped up tub with blocks and a wedge. Lifted out each spring and replaced. Re-attached spring retainer straps. Removed pins from shock absorbers (old/broken ones). These break due to moving washer w/out installing original foam blocks and support screws or due to age and fatigue. Pins have a retainer that must be depressed as you pull or push them out. may need to spin back and forth with pliers as you pull them. Bottom right pin won't come out w/out a hassle. Cut it in pieces with dykes and used spare pushed in from the FRONT (not the rear, as it was originally installed). Found leak was not fixed by getting the drum back up to proper height. Found bolt on tub had broken the bottom of the soap dispenser "tray". This is a 50.00 part. Made a patch from the bottom. Roughed up plastic and used silicone adhesive. After it had adhered filled from top with more silicone. Allowed 24 hrs to dry. Washer is as good as new.

The video was most helpful, and the left shock replacement went as shown. The sucker punch was getting to the right shock - much harder.
First notice video has washer on a stand. How nice to have had it up on a table. LOL As it was I tilted the machine back with a 6 inch block under the front. Still a bear to get to the shock, but w/ patience, doable even though you are flat out on the floor.
The old shocks were so bad that the pistons fell out once it was removed.
It takes some strength to get the pins through the new shocks, and as I have a weak left hand I had to resort to using a C-clamp to help. If I could have gotten my right hand in there I may not have needed it. Right hand did have to hold the clamp as it had to just catch the side of the pin hole since the pin is pointed and sticks out past the mounting bracket when seated.
I also ordered a spring but they both were still good.

The instructions that come with parts say to pull pins out with pliers. not much room to do that. I used hammers and punches where I had access and prybars nail puller an hammer to offset where the water outlet was in the way. I used a short handle hammer to install three of the pins. The third I used a prybar and spacer blocks.

we took the hoses off then unscrewed the bracket that was connected to the part and then once out we put bracket onto the new part and screwed it back to the washer connected the hose back and WOW the water was flowing

Removed old pump and installed new pump in same order. Only problem was reinstalling wire spring clamps with hoses on new pump. Not enough room to use pliers to open clamp. Otherwise a simple installation. A small vise grip pliers might help to hold clamp open. Check and rotate inlet/outlet end of pump as included directions describe first before installation.

I looked up the repair on You Tube and it looked easy! Take off the top of the machine (unplug and disconnect water first), 2 wire connections and 2 screws to mount. The only problem I had was screwing the mounting plate on the machine. It needed some help enlarging the hole a tad, I used an awl. Reconnect the water and plug in.This Granny rocks!

Unbelievebly fast. I ordered on Sunday. Part was shipped on Monday and I received it on Wednesday. I removed the 2 screws from the old catch and put the new one in, in about 5 minutes. I had a load of wash running 5 minutes after that.

I removed the 2 screws that held the broken latch together. The screws were a little hard to remove. Once I removed the screws, replacing the new latch was a piece of cake.

It was so easy to replace. I called a local appliance store and they wanted approx $105.00 to rush the part or $95 to have it shipped from the east coast...I went on your website and with delivery the cost was $16.07. I was thrilled...the existing screws were in very tight so all I needed was an electric screw driver.

The latch arrived in 3 days. What a piece of cake!!! I removed the broken latch and installed the new latch using the same screws in 5 minutes. It works like a charm!

Used a screw driver to remove 2 screws. Removed broken latch. Installed new latch with the 2 screws. Works like new. Took about 5 minutes and fixed the problem.

Removed front panel, used socket to compress lock tab on plastic pins holding shocks. Still taks a little effort to get them out. The one behind a plastic drain canister is a proble as there doesn't seem to be a good method for moving that canister. I think that's why the spare pin is provided.

Sadly, my case was one of the lower percentage where the problem is in the rear bearing area. The shocks were, the top support springs were good but the rear of the washer drum was shot. Opted to replace with new washer rather than go through the much longer repair with the almost $300 in parts.
