I watched several videos of people replacing this gasket easily, but we had trouble. The old one came out easily. The new one just slipped into the crack, but it kept going and ended up on the inside of the door. We ended up taking the outside panel off to get the gasket out. We tried to fit the thing into the slot, but it kept coming out the other side. I finally came across someone who had had the same trouble. By feel only, you can feel a slight ridge on the top side of the lower door and I had to press the gasket against that ridge. It was not a very noticeable ridge, but it holds the back (slot edge) against the door so that the gasket stays put. When we figured that out, the repair went smoothly. I am running the dishwasher now and so far, so good.

the end on one of the door springs on the dishwasher broke off

I removed the access panel using a nut driver. One fastener on each side at the lower front panel. Move the two piece lower panel and set aside. Locate the broken spring. It will be on the floor under the dish washer. Remove the broken spring. Place the new spring end in the hole in the chord end and place the chord over the plastic guide. Use a pliers to stretch the spring and fasten it to the hole in the lower dishwasher frame at the back of the dishwasher. Check the door for proper tension. Replace the lower panel and secure with the two screws. I recommend replacing both springs at the same time to insure proper balance. If you only replace one spring you will be replacing the other in the near future.

Noisy Drain Pump

The drain pump was making a high pitched buzzing noise which told us that its days were numbered. When I ordered the pump I found out that the dishwasher was really made by Electrolux for Whirlpool. Taking the pump off was a simple matter of removing two hose clamps and prying the pump off the frame. The hard part was realizing that it ju st pulled off without damaging anything. The new pump easily slipped right in and the screw in hose clamp was easily installed. However, the hose clamp that required pinching with the pliers was not that easy. I had to use a screwdriver to push it all the way on while holding the clamp open with the pliers. All in all pretty easy.

Followed the instructions given on the video, for replacing the drain pump. I did not pull the unit all the way out of the counter space just pulled it out about a foot. I had to lie on the floor to change the pump. That cost me some time for removal and installation, but I did not have to disconnect any water or electrical lines. I did unplug the power. The exchange went smoothly accept for the one spring clamp. Hard to squeeze and slip on. Would have been better to use a different kind of clamp. I have arthritis so that was an issue. All in all a good experience. A Big Thank You !! to this site . There instructions were perfect, the site is very user friendly. They saved me the cost of hiring a repair person. I'm a 75 yr. old disabled female, if I can do it then you surely can.

Finally we laid in the tub--be sure to support the lid. The grommet could be inserted halfway. Then trying to fold the grommet back we were able to use a screwdriver to force the rest in to place.

Removed old hose and went to install new hose from Part Select. Part received was not the same as advertised. It was 6-8 inches shorter than the original hose. Would not make the necessary turns because of shorter length. I even went to Video instruction on installation even though I have been in Machine repair for 30 years , this video s howed using the shorter hose and when installed in the video hose also had a kink because of hose length. Had to stop repair and go to hardware store and purchase a longer hose. This purchased hose from the hardware was 50% cheaper and actually worked. I also paid for 2-3 day shipping and received part 7 days later. I am very disappointed with Parts Select and am an owner of an Equipment Rental Facility and will never utilize Parts Select again.
