Your service was great, the basket came in two parts and all I had to do was put the two together and put it in the dishwasher. I am glad we were able to get a new one. Thanks again for such quick service. Thank you very much for such great service.

Screw drivers
I removed the kick panel at the bottom front of the dishwasher. Then using a flashlight and a cross point screwdriver, I removed the thermostat from about the middle left. It requires a short screwdriver, but not quite as short as a stubby. I unplugged the wires, noting that one of them was a little burnt looking. The burnt looking conne

ctor was still okay. I then installed the new one, with the green dot on the thermostat having the slightly burnt looking connector. Then I ran a load of dishes and the dishwasher worked as it was supposed to. It has worked okay twice since then.

After moving the dishwasher out from the cabinetry, I removed the screws holding the pump in place. Pulling the pump from the formed plastic opening, I found a toothpick lodged in the pump housing. At the same time I noticed that the front o-ring was deformed due to being the incorrect size (too large). It was installed at the factory

I went online to search for new parts. PartSelect was the second or third listing on the search page. I submitted the dishwasher model number and was taken to a set of parts illustrations. I was easily able to find the o-rings I needed.

I watched several videos of people replacing this gasket easily, but we had trouble. The old one came out easily. The new one just slipped into the crack, but it kept going and ended up on the inside of the door. We ended up taking the outside panel off to get the gasket out. We tried to fit the thing into the slot, but it kept coming

out the other side. I finally came across someone who had had the same trouble. By feel only, you can feel a slight ridge on the top side of the lower door and I had to press the gasket against that ridge. It was not a very noticeable ridge, but it holds the back (slot edge) against the door so that the gasket stays put. When we figured that out, the repair went smoothly. I am running the dishwasher now and so far, so good.

Repair was easily performed by removing old parts and snapping new ones into place.
I woulsugest that you take a picture before removing the old parts so that you can correctly orient the new ones.

The drain pump was making a high pitched buzzing noise which told us that its days were numbered. When I ordered the pump I found out that the dishwasher was really made by Electrolux for Whirlpool. Taking the pump off was a simple matter of removing two hose clamps and prying the pump off the frame. The hard part was realizing that it ju

st pulled off without damaging anything. The new pump easily slipped right in and the screw in hose clamp was easily installed. However, the hose clamp that required pinching with the pliers was not that easy. I had to use a screwdriver to push it all the way on while holding the clamp open with the pliers. All in all pretty easy.

Followed the instructions given on the video, for replacing the drain pump. I did not pull the unit all the way out of the counter space just pulled it out about a foot. I had to lie on the floor to change the pump. That cost me some time for removal and installation, but I did not have to disconnect any water or electrical lines. I did

unplug the power. The exchange went smoothly accept for the one spring clamp. Hard to squeeze and slip on. Would have been better to use a different kind of clamp. I have arthritis so that was an issue. All in all a good experience. A Big Thank You !! to this site . There instructions were perfect, the site is very user friendly. They saved me the cost of hiring a repair person. I'm a 75 yr. old disabled female, if I can do it then you surely can.
