F1271FDS8 LG Washer - Instructions

Used Youtube to look for a set of repair instructions. From start to end 35 min.

The difficult part was getting the door back on. Only 1 Youtube video I watched stated Do not remove the 2 center screws at the top. Wish I had seen that video first.

Overall very easy to do.

After watching the video for installation of the bellow, I followed the suggested repair method and was able to repair my washer.

Remove where the water pumps are and remove the one that was damaged easily

Do not pay a service company to come to your house to make this fix!!! If you have common sense, simple tools, a phone camera and some mini zip ties you can do this!

After watching a couple YouTube videos on installing a new motor I had the confidence to start the job. My biggest worry was I'd forget where a screw/part went so I took a lot of pictures as I disassembled. I also laid all the parts out on a table reflective of where they belonged on the machine. I learned washers aren't rocket science - YOU CAN DO THIS. The most difficult part of the fix was my washer was a different model so much of the caging was completely different than YouTube disassembly, but once I got into the machine it was fairly identical. Easily popped out the old, broken motor and inserted the new LG certified part. Reassembled in 1/2 the time of disassembly and my machine works like new:) Hoping to get another 10+ years out of this washer.

Unplugged washer.
Disconnected water line,
Removed 2 screws then removed clips for hoses on inlet valve.
Replaced valve and hooked hises back up. Replaced plate or rear of washer and plugged back in.
Works great and even with cost of 1 day delivery, saved at least $200 doing myself.

This was a very easy repair. Just followed the steps in the videos on the website (I replaced both the hot and cold inlet valves, so two different videos, but the process for each is similar) and it couldn't have been simpler.

just put new part in very simple only problem was shipping yall used fedex went to 4 states and one state twice they finally gave it to USPS so it took almost 9 days to get here

I already had the top of the washer open, from previous disassembly to clean the front loader seal, and when I ran a trial load, noticed a small 1/4" tear in the hose bellows that attaches to the drum.

Very simple repair, remove the existing hose by loosening the clamps, paying attention to their orientation. Install the existing hose clamps onto the new hose, install and tighten the hose clamps.

5 minute job, if the washer top is off (which is also simple).

It was giving me a code got on YouTube it gave the code after that bought a new pump and fix done

I removed the tub. Thin included disassembling the washer and disconnecting various hoses electrical connectors to facilitate the removal of the tub from the machine.
Once removed, I separated the two halves of the tub and removed the metal basket to gain access to the bearings and seal.
Removal of the bearings was much harder than expected as they were very difficult to drive out of their pressed in mounting.
I finally was able to remove the bearings and fabricated a press using a piece of all thread and two steel plates to install the new bearings and seal.
I would not attempt to do this again with the proper bearing pullers and an official press to install the bearings gently without beating the tub housing.
This repair I feel is beyond the scope of your average DIY. The bearings can be damaged easily without the specialized tools to install the components.

The repair went good but time consuming. I replaced both inner and outer tub bearings along with the tub seal. I removed top by removing two screws in back then pulling back slighty then lifting up. I removed soap tray by pressing down tab and pulling out. Loosened soap dispenser and folded back on top. I removed control panel then front door panel. Remove back panel. Remove motor and shocks and hanging springs which there are two. Disconnect the hoses attached to tub then pull the tub. Remove screws holding the tub halves together. Use punch to remove bearings. NOTE: If you put the bearings in the freezer prior to installing, they go in much easier. I used the old bearing, set it on the new bearing then I tapped the old bearing so not to damage new bearings. I replaced the seal then put everything back together. Not difficult but time consuming.

Entire machine must come apart to replace part. You tube installation instructions. They said at least a 3-4 hour job. Took me 4. I could see this repair costing at least 800.00 Would be worth buying a new machine but doing it yourself cost 225.00 and your labor

I removed the top of the washer, pried the front control panel off (pull a couple of electrical connecters or just rest it on something), separated the tub sleeve from the front panel and then removed the front panel (two screws). To remove the pump - just remove a couple of hoses, two wires and slide it out of the clip below. Reverse the process to install. A little daunting if you haven't done something like this before, but easily do-able once you get past your fears. A service call would cost much more than the $60.00 it took to get the part to my front door. This worked out really great - my wash smells fresh once again and my wife has moved on to the next project on her honey-do list!

I tipped the right side of the washer up 9.5 inches using two 2x4s and I was able to remove and replace the old hose with the tools described.
