DPVH880EJ0MV General Electric Dryer - Instructions

Removed the star bit screws on the top of the control panel then removed the front by opening the door and removing the screws in the upper corners of the door jam. I then removed the top which exposed the drum slides. NOTE: This model requires 4 drum slides and NOT two as specified in the video.

Removed too of dryer and placed the parts on. Runs like a brand new one. Thanks so much!

I replaced the dryer bearing ( a plastic part) and all of the slides on the bearing. It now operates like new.

Take out the two screws holding the top on with the door open remove top and remove two small screws in top front corners. I replaced the 4 slides and the drum bearing without the new felt, do not do this it continued to squeek after it ran the first few times when i got the new felt a week later i installed it in ten minuites and the noise is gone. I think it cost around sixty dollars and my dryer is back in action. Make sure that you clean all of the lint out of the inside of your dryer I had alot of build up near the chute for the lint trap.

Open the door and removed the part. Installed the new part and started the dryer.

Unscrewed the old, screwed in the new making sure wires matched up same as before. Reset my breaker and works like new again.

The gentleman knew what the problem was, sent the right part, and I looked like I was smart.

Took off the top and front of the dryer---really easy, just two screws for each. Put new drum slides (4) on the front/sides of the drum. Then things got a little bit more difficult. Removed the drum entirely, vaccuumed everything out and had to replace the rear bearings. My husband did this part so I can't tell you exactly how he did it. Not too difficult though. The written directions from here were hard to read---need to make a new copy from the original as it's so copied that it's all smudged. Anyway, once we got the new bearings on, we put everything back together. Dryer works like a charm, at a fraction of the cost it would have been to get someone out to do it. I followed the great tips from the other repairs and that part was easy. Turned out not to be the exact problem. The problem was the rear bearing shaft which in another 20 min I had the drum out and repaired. Now the dryer is like new and will hopefully last another 5 yrs.

First I got the front bearing, found out I needed the slides too. It was binding at first, so I undid an earlier misadjustment I made (on the back drum mount). and it works!

I took off the dryer top and saw it was the slides went on line found PartsSelect, found my dryer, ordered the parts and had them within two days and it took me about 15 minutes to fix the dryer which will add about 3-4 years more life on it. Thank You PartsSelect My wife is even happier

To get to where the drum slides go you have to first remove the dryer top. Then you have to remove the two screws that hold the dryer front/door. Found inside the dryer about an inch down on both sides. Be careful because it will fall off. Lower carefully as there is an electric hook-up on the bottom of the door. On the door top are the brackets that the slides slip into. My dryer has 4 slides. Sold individually for some reason. You are done except for re-assembly. Slip dryer drum back on door, press the front until you hear it click back together. Put screws back in and top back on. You are done and no more screeching!
