Dryer was making a loud noise when running.

I am a 55 year old woman who likes to repair household items. I followed You Tube instructions and did it all by myself. A few screws to get the top off and a two more to remove the front piece. Trap duct assembly was cracked and falling apart. Pulling off the old was fairly easy. I watched the You Tube instructions on my Ipad so I co uld rewind and watch as I did it. The hardest part was I dropped one of the screws when placing the front of the dryer back on and had to find another one that was the same size. Luckily I have lots of old screws in my tool box, If you like to do small simple repairs to save some money this is an easy one.

The original control knob was made of 100% plastic and broke 3 times

I was using vice grips to turn the control knob (stub) until the new knob arrived. The replacement knob was a redesigned type with a metal backing plate to place on the control knob stub (better than the original plastic knob) however the diameter of the new knob is only half the size of the original knob and the mark on the dial does not line up with the markings on the dryer control panel making it difficult to know what cycle you are using or how far to turn the dial within each cycle before passing to the next cycle.

Pulled off old knob and snapped new one into place. Took about 5 seconds. Must be a lame design cause my dryer's less than 2 years old and the knob snapped on the inside and wouldn't turn. Easy to fix though.

Switch cost under $10. and took me 10 minutes to install. Dryer works great again. OH, I ordered an extra switch to have on hand.

Tipped front panel forward and replaced all four slides. Cleaned everything off and put back together. Works great again. A different knob was broken.

The timer knob was sent, but the part on the dryer that was broken was a different knob. We were able to use the knob, but it was much bigger than the old knob.

I believe the diagram for the dryer showed the timer knob, but not the three other knobs.

I wish we would have received the correct knob, but the supplied k nob is working for us.

I replaced the drum bearing slides and also the main front drum bearing. First, disconnect the electric. Then I removed the two screws inside the door that attach the top cover, removed the top cover, removed two screws that attach the front cover, lift up the front cover and pivot it to the left leaving the wiring attached, removed the front bearing assembly by pulling it out at the top and then up, installed the new front bearing ring and snap it into place, installed the drum bearing slides, reinstalled the front cover, reinstalled the top cover, and tested the drum by turning it by hand first and then under power. The whole operation took less than 15 minutes....

timer knob skipped everywhere & dryer always ran when timer was on

It turns out the back of my dryer timer knob was cracked, so everytime I would turn it it would just slip to any setting/time. This was just the matter of pulling out the knob & pushing in the new one. The other issue I had was my dryer would always run without having to start it. This is because the rotary "start" switch was bad. It just took a philips screwdriver to take the backsplash off the dryer to replace the switch. So easy my wife or kids could've done this!!

stuck it back in the holes just like the original handle. Had to do a little adjustment because I put screwdriver in them too many times to open the door after the original handle feel off, so the fit was loose. Fixed with tape.
