CTT21GAZGRAA Hotpoint Refrigerator - Instructions

Both PartSelect and GE advisors told me to remove/loosen screws holding gasket to the door. This model has no screws. After pulling to old gasket from a corner (very difficult) I found that it is held in place by pressing it into a channel running around the door. Very difficult to line up the proper parts and very difficult to slide/adjust it into place. When finally installed, one corner of the gasket protruded so that the door was not flush and actually kept the door from closing. I tried to push/pull it into place. No good. Finally I tried to hammer the gasket back to make it flush. No good, as it evidently crushed the magnets providing the necessary holding power and produced gaps. I finally had to get foam window stripping plus heavy duty magnets to pull door to frame. Result: door closes OK but some moisture collects around door.

I was a bit concerned that I might have selected the wrong part. There were several pictures of rails to choose from with slight variations on the website. Fortunately, it was a correct selection and arrived sooner than expected. The assembly was easy to remove from the refigerator. Two screws that held the slide in place were removed and the replacement was installed within minutes. I am very pleased that I chose to use PartSelect.

pull the front cover off, take the two screws out and the side rail comes right off, put the new one in place, put the screws back in and bang!.....all done. Took longer to take the stuff out of the fridge than to make this repair.

First, read through blogs which said it could be something frozen up. I unplugged and let it warm for a few days. Didn't work. No ice found. Then, assumed to be thermostat. Unplug frig. One screw removes cover, then another 2 screws to take out thermostat compartment. Unplug wires from harness and remove. Simply put in the new thermo (reverse from removal), and reassemble. Bingo, nice and cool within 12 hr. Rock solid 35F ever since. Pretty simple.

The hardest part was figuring out the part needed from so many little pictures. The actual repair, a piece of cake!

Sears told me the part was no longer available. I came to your web site and then called your customer service. A very nice customer service lady helped me find the part. Very simple to pull the old one off and reinstall the new one with a rat trap behind the unit. Just in case it came back. Could have been a client but probably was a rat. I watched some videos online trying to find one that pertained to my door gasket and found a couple. After that it was a snap. The old gasket came off easy and the new one went back on easy. I did however submerse it in hot water first to kind of even things out.

I watched and followed the instructions given in the video. The refrigerator almost looks new!

Installed herself. Positive experience.

I started removing the switch by prying on the right side with a screwdriver, when it emerged enough I used pliers to finish removing it. I then unpluged rhe wires from the bad switch and pluged them on the new switch and "poped" it into the hole.

Connected the 2 wires and pushed in the switch until it clicked.
