ASD2123DRW Admiral Refrigerator - Instructions

I went straight to PartsSelect on line and within minutes I found the appropriate brand of parts for my refrigerator. I simply removed the old trim shelf and snapped the replacements in place. I also inserted the glass shelf trim. No tools were required.

Removed the 3 screws that hold the ice maker in place and remove the cover and level wire. Put the cover and wire on new part and install the 3 screws. Had ice within 1 hour. A very easy job for the do it yourselfer. Suspect the heat coil that melts the cubes was not working in the old unit and cubes stayed in the tray.

First I unplugged the refrigerator. Next item was the ice-maker; remove (3) screws and unplug it from the back wall. Third task is remove the (4) screws that attach the back wall of the freezer compartment. Lift the wall up enough to dislodge the center cooling shaft that the fan rides in and remove the rear wall. Watched video. Unplugged refrigerator and popped out switch. In plugged connector and pushed switch in place. Plugged in refrigerator and the light worked

replaced water valve, Still not working.

Referencing the info/schematics you have on your website, I unscrewed/unattached top-front panel (carefully), from behind the panel you have to detach the wires (2) from the switch, pushed "in" the switch to remove, put in new switch and attach wires to test BEFORE remounting panel. removed the front panel on freezer door ,removed and disconnected panel ,removed panel containing solenoid,replaced with new solenoid. replaced all parts. works perfect..

The ice/water dispenser was stuck in "on" position and would not stop discharging ice cubes. First I removed the dispenser grill and face plate (2 screws at bottom of plate under grill). Then, I unscrewed and removed the ice/water selector switch (2 screws). Then, I removed the ice/water dispenser assembly (1 screw over actuator pad an ... Then I replaced the actuator pad (just slips over - not screws) and put everything back together. It was really very easy. You just need to get the correct size torx driver.

I took off the backing off the back of the refrig. & the water valve with a nutdriver. Then unpluged two wire connectors & disconnect three water lines. Pulled out the old valve & hooked-up the new valve in reverse order. It don't get any easer than that. The dripping water dispencer was no more.

Repair went well,took about five to ten minutes to disconnect the power from the fridge removed the defective switch installed the new one ,reconnected the power,,,and Let there be light and there was light!

Popped out with butter knife and unplugged 3 prong connector and reversed with anew switch.

But, unfortunately it got broken again exactly same way as before.
So, I ordered same switch again for 2nd time.

Maytag should recall that Rocker Switch and build with better materials.

The original relay only has 2 connectors The 2 orange wires which are combined to one female connector need to be clipped and separated each to its own connector. Ref ... Read more er to Michael's blog as to which wire goes to which connector on the Start Relay. I replaced the Run Capacitor, Start Relay and Overload just to be safe. The Start Relay was the actual culprit.Thank you for an excellent website!

Very easy to order from parts select. Took seconds to replace.

Remove 1 screw under ice maker. Gently pull downwards to unhook ice maker. Disconnected 4 pin wire connector. Remove and set aside the cover and wire loop you will need on new ice maker.
