Loosened the two screws holding the element, pulled the element out of the back of the oven, loosed the two wire leads connected to the back of the element, removed the broken part, placed the new element into the oven, reconnected the wire leads, pushed them back into the insulation in the back of the oven, repositioned the element into

its place and replaced the two screws holding it into place with the new screws that came with the new part. Oven element fired right up first try without any further complications. One of the easiest appliance fixes I have ever done!

Light lens broke when self clean cycle was used

I searched Whirlpool, Sears and random appliance stores and Part Select was the only company to have the lens available. All other manufacturers said the lens was no longer manufactured as a stand alone piece and I would have to buy the entire light assembly. Thank you Parts Select!!!!!

Followed directions as supplied. New part did not work, so it must be in the control unit which is no longer available. So time for a new range.

I replaced the oven sensor which was easy to replace. A pigtail wire was provided with the sensor which is intended to be installed first so you don't have to reach around the front and back of the oven at the same time. The replacement was easy. However, that turned out not to be the problem. The real problem was the maytag electroni

c clock control timer, temperature control unit. The part number is 7601P177-60. This device has been discontinued and I was fortunate enough to find the part at a local supplier. Once I replaced this, the problem went away. The oven heats up normally. My original symptom was that when setting the oven temperature to something like 350 degrees, the display would rapidly report heating up the oven to that temperature, and the oven was only mildly warm. If you have that symptom, it is probably not the oven sensor. It is the electronic clock unit. Hope you can find one. If you can't, I think you need to by a new oven. Regards

I unscrewed the old element from the back of the oven. Then I detached the wires and took the old heating element out. I then fit the wires into the new element and screwed it back in using the new screws. It was really easy! I was lucky to have my father in law show me how, since this was my first time to do it.

The "PartsSelect" General discription of the parts funtion helped me to confirm my suspitions that there was some form of temperature registering problem. I whatched the short video they provided on how to change the part out, even though, in this case, it's pretty self explanitory. The part was in my hands a day erlier than promised and i

First, we cut the power to the oven and removed the oven racks. I removed the two screws holding the old heating element in (removed easily, I didn't need any WD-40) and pulled the element wiring out of the back of the oven. It took me a while to realize how the wiring was/is connected to the element, but once I did they came off fairly

easily with a little coaxing from some pliers. On our model, the wiring thingums fit down onto the element prongs. So, you pull the straight up to remove them. Very technical terms here. After the wires and the new element were connected, I screwed the new element in, turned the power back on and the oven was is excellent working order again.
