79571042012 Kenmore Freezer - Instructions

Removed mullion strip with Phillips screwdriver replaced spring reinstalled the mullion strip all in about 15 minutes.

I watched a couple of You Tube videos on how to make the repair, ordered a new spring from Part Select, and installed the new spring when it arrived. Took about 5 minutes for the actual repair.

replaced the ice maker with the new assembly kit, the longest time taken was to fit back the pull out door .. had to align the slots correctly and check that it slid back and forth easily.

Expensive to have repair man come out and find out that I’ve been mailed wrong spring again. My icemaker is on the left hand side this is the side of refrigerator- I need the spring for left side with the ice maker. Do I have to pay for another spring and mail this one back ?i have mailed one back and postage is getting expensive.

Removed the 2 Phillips head screws that attach the flipper assembly to the door. Slide the flipper assembly up to disconnect the top & bottom bracket. Disconnect the quick connect wire assembly behind the center hinge bracket and remove the flipper assembly. Install the new flipper assembly in reverse order.

Unable to complete repair due to lack of response to emailed question concerning another spring. No picture of spring in question on website making it impossible to be sure of comparability without clarification. Unable to call currently due to no in person support. Just stuck now without an answer. Frustrating to say the least.

Now that you have to buy a complete assembly that includes the drawer in the classy window it's very simple to replace however you buying parts that you don't need simply because G no longer makes the window. Easy install, small screwdriver under back of old switch push out and pull out with small pliers. unsnap the old plug and install new. YOUR DONE

Read previous tips
Taped off area around switch to protect surface
Used putty knife to extract switch
Used screwdriver to separate connector from switch
Plugged in connector
Pushed switch assembly into opening
Removed tape

Used a small screw driver inserted into the front of the switch (facing the front) and pried until the switch was coming out. When out, I removed the connect harness and replace the switch with a new one.

Just popped it in, just as easy as that!

Just had to slip the 2 pegs into the existing holes.

Simple replace of door, fits perfectly
