After a water leak ( and perhaps a resulting electrical problem ), the microwave ( which was never near water ) now has the following problem:When the door is closed, the light remains on and the fan starts. open the door and their is no problem.
the microwave does work, but the fan and light never go off with the door closed.
i looked at the symptoms list but didn't see this specific problem.
thanks for any help you can provide.
For model number 79080322310
Hi Tim,
Thank you for your question. If the microwave is not in use and light remains on and the fan starts, the issue is likely the door switches and they will need to be replaced. The part numbers for them are PS12071302 and PS12071303. You will need 2 of part number PS12071303. It is recommended to replace all 3 door switches at the same time. If you would like to place an order for them, you may order them either online or by calling our customer service line and anyone will be happy to assist you. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.

took microwave apart to replace a bulb, put it back together but we are left with an extra part. I *think* it's B67 (?) which is some kind of shield(?). Don't know where it goes or how to replace it.
For model number 79080322310
Hi Carey, thank you for reaching out. Based on our research, the shield is located at the base of the microwave door. You may need to attach it to the base with its mounting screws. We hope this information helps!

a ceramic plate was left in microwave and broke the glass rotating plate. i think the insert that rotates the plate melted. is there a way to remove that or is the oven just a throw a way now
For model number 790
Hello Carolyn, thank you for reaching out. Based on your model number, the part that rotates the plate is the turntable motor coupler, part number PS12071367. It is a replaceable component, so you do not need to throw away the oven. To remove it, you can often simply pull it out by hand or carefully pry it free with a flathead screwdriver. We hope this helps!
Doesn’t heat..but everything else works. Should I just buy a new one or are they worth repairing..4-5 years old

Hi Sandra, thank you for getting in touch. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the magnetron, part number PS12705729, which is the most likely cause of this issue. If it is faulty, you may need to replace it. We hope this helps!
Remove vent cover then remove touch screen control panel. When you remove control panel take photo of where everything is plugged in then unplug and remove control panel. 3 door switches located next to door in a plastic chassis. Test each switch with current tester. Remove the bad switch and replace with the new one. You tube DIY helped.
First thing I dir was search YouTube for any related videos and found this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHj4H9Fdxrc, it was the exact problem my microwave was exhibiting. Once I verified the problem by troubleshooting, I removed the part and verified that the switches were working fine, the door latch assembly showed signs of wear which was the cause of the problem. After receiving the replacement part I installed it, verified that power was restored to the unit and reassembled the microwave, works fine, hope it lasts a long time!
The diagnosis is about an hour. Coz, I need to open the control panel, got a tester, and trsted all critical parts inside the panel. Also, replaced the fuse just to make sure its a new one. Found out it was a switch (bottom part) that control the open/close of the microwave door.
When found out the problem, the rest of the work is easy.
