Worked perfect!
Couple weeks ago my Frigidaire over the range microwave started acting up. Whenever I opened the door on the microwave it tripped the breaker. After some internet research it appeared that one of the door switches was faulty. Replaced it with this one and microwave works perfect again. Relatively easy fix!

I have blown 2 fuses recently when my son has opened the microwave door before the time is up. For example, still 5 seconds left - he opens the door to get his food, and the fuse blows. In researching online this sounds like a faulty door switch - does this sound right? (i realize there's no way to be sure so a best guess is fine here). Thanks!

Hello Jeff, Thank you for the question. Yes, the most common part replaced for this issue is the door switches. You can test for continuity with a multi meter as well before replacing the switch. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

My microwave oven starts when the door is shut, it will shut off when the bottom right side of the door is pushed in. It sounds like when i push on the door a switch clicks inside the control panel area. Which switch controls this feature? It will start anytime the door is opened and shut whether microwave is in use or not. I don't believe the heating function turns on when this happens. Thanks!!! greg

Our microwave blows the breaker when the door is closed. If we reset the breaker with the door open, microwave turns on, shut the door, and the breaker blows. Could this be the center door switch?
For model number Cgmv175qfa
Hi Shirley, thank you for your question. It could be yes. There are a few parts that could cause this issue however. You may also want to check your two other door switches and your fuse as well. Good luck with your repair.

Tripping breaker at turn on. Can you tell me part # for door switches. Also I would like the fuse number. Thank you. Also, having trouble finding the screws to take out to access fuse and switches.
For model number FGMV176NTDB
Hello Tom, Thank you for contacting us. We have researched the model you have provided and have found the part you are looking for is Part #: PS12071302 and Part #: PS12071303 (two required) for the Door Switches. The Fuse is PartSelect Number PS12071294, To access the Fuse you will need to remove the appliance from the mount and remove the screws at the back of the appliance to remove the casing of the appliance. We hope this helps!
While running the microwave if I open it before time expires it will trip the breaker. There are 3 switches on the door, I was wonder if you’ve heard of this problem or if this is the right switch for that problem?
For model number FGMV176NTF
Hello Josh, thank you for your question. You can test your door switches with a multimeter. First, unplug your microwave. Some door switches have only two metal prongs extending from the body, while others have three. Those with three terminals will have a common (COM) terminal, a normally closed (N.C.) terminal, and a normally open (N.O.) terminal. Those switches with only two terminals will have either a common terminal and a normally open terminal, or a common terminal and a normally closed terminal. We are providing directions for testing a door switch with three terminals. If you are dealing with a door switch that has only two terminals, ignore the part of this test that does not apply to you. Using caution, remove all wiring harness leads from the switch's terminals. Use your ohmmeter to test your switch for continuity. Begin by setting your ohmmeter to measure resistance at a scale of Rx1. If you are using an analog meter, touch the metal tips of the test leads together and zero your ohmmeter by adjusting the thumbwheel in the front of the meter until the needle reads '0' on the scale. Touch one meter lead to the COM terminal and the other lead to the N.O. terminal. Do not push in on the actuator. Your meter should give a reading of infinity, meaning the circuit is open, and there is no continuity. Without moving the meter's leads, press down on the actuator until you hear a 'click'. With the 'click' of the actuator, the meter should produce a resistance reading of zero ohms. This means the circuit is closed and continuity is present. (switches with only two terminals do not 'click' when actuated) Keep the meter lead that is touching the COM terminal in place, but move the other meter lead from the N.O. terminal to the N.C. terminal. You should receive a reading of infinity when you push in on the switch's actuator. When the actuator is released, you should receive a resistance reading of zero ohms. Now, set your ohmmeter to its highest resistance scale and touch one meter lead to the N.O. terminal and the other meter lead to the N.C. terminal. The resistance reading between these two leads should be infinite. Finally, take a resistance reading from both the N.C. terminal and the N.O. terminal to any metal mounting hardware that is a part of the switch assembly. You should receive a normal reading of infinity. Any readings that differ from the ones presented here are indicative of a defective door switch that will need to be replaced. Door switch part number PS12071302 and Switch part number PS12071303. We hope this helps.
When trying to start the microwave, the error reads close door. if we put a Q Tip or a small finger into the door slot to give a slight movement where the three switches are, it rectifies the problem for the moment. Eventually the error returns and we repeat the process. I'd like to know which of the three switches controls the close door circuit safety net. The middle switch is a closed cct until activated when door closes to open cct. The two on each side of this switch are opened cct until the door closes then the switch closes the cct.

Hi Keith, thank you for reaching out. The door interlock switch, part number PS12071302, prevents the microwave from starting when the door is open. You need to check the door interlock to fix this issue. We hope this helps!

I understand there are 3 door switches. Which one do I replace if breaker is tripped when I close the door?
For model number CGMV175QFA
Hello Allan, thank you for a very interesting question. Your model comes with 3 door switches. Two door switches have the same part number PS12071303. The third door switch is part number PS12071302. You may need to check them all for continuity and replace the faulty one accordingly. We hope this helps.
I’ve purchased Amazon door switches when my first one blew (of the 3, it is the first/upper lower switch). I’ve gone through 4 of them now over the course of a year or 2. Last one didn’t even blow the fuse it just caused a mini electrical fire and melted a hole through the switch and bonded to the holder.
I’m adamant about opening and closing the door square, opening/closing swiftly, and after pushing stop. I’ve opened and checked the other switches and they are fine, no signs of arching or burning
I’m ordering OE switch and holder because those are for certain needed. But I’m concerned that something else could be amiss, or do we really think aftermarket switches are to blame.

Hello Patrick, Thank you for contacting us. We show that this model uses two of part# PS12071303 and the middle switch is part# PS12071302. If they are constantly failing, then you may have a wiring issue or an issue with the control board. We hope this helps.
my microwave will trip the breaker if i stop it while working.
For model number 790 80333310
Hi Daniel, thank you for reaching out. Based on our research, the issue is most probably because of the door switch, part number PS12071302. We would suggest replacing the door switch to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
