The broken access panel was VERY TIGHTLY engaged to the metal vent. After much tugging and pulling, trying to get the vent free of the broken access panel the two apart (without success) I used a large flathead screwdriver to split the portion of the access panel (its plastic) that held to the metal vent. Once the vent was free of the old panel, it could be easily snapped together to the new panel and this new assembly was held in place with two screws.

Started down Parts Select list of possibilities. Replaced the door gasket (1/2 hour), still leaked. Replaced water deflectors (15 min), still leaked. Was looking at steam vent and read the repair submitted by "mary from Fountain Green UT". Removed and thoroughly cleaned the steam vent (1/2 hour). Stopped leaking and is working fine now. Repairs were very easy using Parts Select instructions.

Just removed the old one and installed the new one

Turned off power to dishwasher. Removed inner door panel. Cut wires as directed and installed new switches. Also installed new spring on soap door opener. Reassembled, ran and tested. Take your time, this repair is pretty simple.

Opened the door removed old seal and put the new one in. The only hard part was getting the new seal out of the package. It took about 1 minute to do. Very easy.

I watched the video that you had on line and the repair was done in a snap. The shipping was fast also.

Using a Torx screwdriver, I removed the fasteners holding the control panel/latch section of the door on the dishwasher. I tested the high limit thermostat with a multimeter. Just two terminals, one being power in, the other power out. The part had what I have heard call a "high resistance open". In other words, the power was not getting from "A" to "B". Power in - not out. After cutting power to the unit, I removed the part (just pull it out of the retaining clip and pull the terminals from the part). After receiving the part...by the way, really fast delivery...I reconnected the part (it doesn't matter which wire goes where), pushed the part back into the retaining clip, replaced and fastened the control panel, then restored power to the unit. Runs like new.

I paid a repairman over $100 to tell me he could find nothing wrong with my leaking dishwasher (it didn't leak when he ran it). I narrowed down the problem to a missing water deflector, but decided to replace the door gasket as well. It took less than 5 minutes to do the job. The only tool I used was a pair of needle-nose pliers to grasp the old door gasket and get it coming out of the groove. According to PartSelect and other info I found, usually this problem can be solved by replacing the water inlet valve. I did this, but the problem remained. Next I tried replacing the float assembly and float switch. I couldn't find videos online showing this for my old-style float assembly so I tried getting expert help online. A repair person answered my questions--I had to remove the nut from the end of the float, insert the float, and re-attach the nut by going underneath the tub--and I replaced the float assembly. The float switch was actually inside a plastic box that was attached to the frame. It was hard to reach the screw that held this plastic box in place. But I got it unscrewed, opened the box, detached the wires, replaced the switch, attached the wires, and screwed the box back in place. Now my dishwasher works!

The video was of great help. One area that gave me grief was placing the small part with points under the plastic mechanism in the door. I tried to push the points into the open slot. After watching the movie a few more times I was trying to put the part in backwards. A little more explanation at this point in the video would have been a tremendous help. Otherwise, thank you for the video.

Bought a house and with it can an old whirlpool dishwasher in where the soap dispenser lid would latch, as the latch itself was gone. Ordered the latch from part select and used the installation video to switch the latch out. Only problem I came across was that the torx screws at top of he door were free spinning. Ended up using a flat head for leverage to finally get the screws out. Everything works perfectly for once.

The bottom trim piece popped off easily and I removed the damaged panel and replaced it with the new one. I snapped on the trim piece and I was done. It took less than five minutes.

Watched your video and replaced seal in approx. 5 minutes, probably less. Still leaked so I looked at your page for solutions, found out where the air vent was and pried it open, very disgusting mess. With screw driver and long tweezers dug out what I could then poured a mixture of bleach and water in the vent. Totally cleaned it, very white, vent cover went into a bucket of bleach and hot water and it cleaned very well. Put vent cover back on and did a load of dishes, works fine. Thank you for having such a great website, if I ever need help again I will be back. It's a shame someone didn't tell you about cleaning the air vent when you bought the dishwasher.
