587140091 Kenmore Dishwasher - Instructions

Pulled the dishwasher out. Removed the lower face panel , two screws on the top of panel and two screws on the bottom of the panel. Removed the two screws that hold the water valve and removed the valve, installed the new valve , installed the lower panel, put the dishwasher back in it`s position , turned on the water and checked for leaks, ran the dishwasher through a cycle , job done. Thanks to partselect for finding me the correct valve, my dishwasher is 12 years old and nobody else on the internet could help me get the right valve. Good price and fast shipping.

took the door off after several failed attempts, which is easy to do - 2 scews. Then it was easier to find the channel the gasket fits into.

For all Frigidaire diswasher owners, after taking the door off, I realized it was the seal around the soap dispenser that was leaking, due to stripped screws, not the gasket. I rigged it with silicone caulk, but may have to replace that - looks easy, .

Snapped the new one on

Removed screws and put new bottom gasket in old one just fell out.

Took the dishwasher out removed the two screws and the part holding the motor in and removed the motor. Received the parts, places o'rings on the motor, which came with the kit, even though I ordered the two o'rings. Replaced the motor, installed the part that holds the motor and tightened the screws. Cut the old connector off the dishwasher and replaced it with a new connector that came with the kit. Reinstalled the dishwasher, works great. Thanks for your Site.

I disconnected the power to the machine. Removed the bottom access panel and screws holding the dishwaher in the cabinet opening so I could carefully slide the dishwasher out.
Taking note of the pump position at the bottom of the dishwasher I removed the two wire leads, screws and hoses(pliers). I installed the new part in the reverse order and was able to run the dishwasher for a cycle while it was out to make sure there were no leaks.
Dishwasher runs great and the dishes seem cleaner. Fingers crossed.

Remove old spray arm and pressed the new part into place. Let the dishwasher run and the load came out very clean. Overall very pleased.

I ordered a new door gasket, wich is not very common for these type of dishwasher anymore, I installed it in less than 15 minutes. I turned the machine on fully loaded and the machine did not leak a single drop. It save me a bundle since I was considering buying a new dishwasher. THANK YOU!!

This is the second time in 17 years that the dishwasher had no water flow. Basically I diagnosed the valve being bad bcause I unhooked the output side of the valve and had no water flow. I then verified that there was water on the input side and also checked the I had voltage at the valve telling it to come on. With these symptoms I was able to confirm the valve was bad.

We removed the bottom access panel, and were able to remove the broken spring. As others have suggested, we ordered two new springs, so we could replace them both at the same time. Unlike others, we didn't have to move the dishwasher out a few inches to access the springs. An easier repair than it might have been!

I foloowed the others who repared the same item. I really appreciated their help and input. The only thing I would add is when they said that you only have to remove the bottom 2 screws on the inside of the dishwasher door they are absolutely correct. But don't look on the very bottom of the door like I did. They are on the inside of the door, facing inside. The bottom screw on each side. Thanks for all the help.

I am a handy girl and tackle a lot of repairs/projects, this is the first time that the job was actually easier than stated. Remove and replace the door gasket. Removed the 6 phillips head screws holding the top panel cover. This gives access to the latch assembly. Remove the two screw holding the latch in place. I removed the four wires one at a time with needle nose pliers and plugged them on the right spade of the new latch assembly. This assures getting them in the correct position. I then mounted the latch with the two screws and installed the cover with the 6 screws. Job done, piece of cake.
