I just lifted the old part and dropped the new one in. Everything fits perfectly. The new flame is a beautiful blue color.

Cracks in the bruner due to corrosion
I bought a new Doble Burner assembly and replaced the old ones.

old burner assembly could no longer be cleaned
pop up range top. pull off old burner. put on new one.
close top. check for rocking. install leveling washer. check again. 2nd burner didn't require leveling so it was quicker.

broken part
The key here was that I found the correcd part for an older kenmore oven and it was easily installed

one of the stove top burners had burned all the way through

We had to buy two dubble burner assemblies because one burner was out on each old assembley
The burner assembly was for my wifes daughter. She raised the top of the stove removed the old burners and set the new ones in place she also used the set washer and it works just fine.

Burners were not burning properly
Just removed the old and set in the new. Waalaa. All is well now. The web site, ordering, shipping and all was super easy.

The double burner assembly had years of gunk so the burn was not clean.
The old double burners lifted off. Before the new burner could be set down into place, the area had to be completely cleaned using a flat blade screwdriver and damp rag. This allowed the new burners to seat properly in place. That is it.

The griddle would not heat
1st lift out the heavy steel griddle.
2nd test pilotless igniter.
3rd check the primary flame.
4th locate part # on the safety valve assy.
I never heard of the brand "Five Star" and I couldn't find any documentation for it either. An internet search finally informed me it came from the Brown Stove Works in TN. I then learned that some models were sold with GE badging (labeling) which me got to Part Select dot com's catalog where I found an image of the part I needed.
5th order the part
6th install the valve and reassemble the burner
7th test
8th put griddle back in place

Back burner not working
Lift stove top, rest it on the pop out holders on stove.
Take old double burner out, Make sure gas port is not plugged.
Put new burner in its place. Make sure it is solid, if not use the washers sent with new burner. turn on gas to burner, to see if it works. Close stove top an wa la!
The bride is happy.;-]

gas flame flared and blackened pots; gas jets clogged
raised the range top so the supports locked in place. carefully lifted off the old burner assemblies. used a paper towel to remove any black soot from gas jets. opened the plastic package of the new burner assemblies, pulled out the new parts and carefully put them in place. turned on the flame to test... took less than 5 minutes to fix a problem that's been annoying for 3 years!!

oven door seal gasket broken.
removed old gasket and clips, replaced with new gasket that came with clips. easy. worked well.
