Air filter has a tab to open cover just press the tab to remove take old filter out and replace it with new one then reinstall the cover and you're done.

Lost the retainer for my brush cutter on my Troy-bilt brush cutter

Socket set
Parts fit perfectly. Removed the string trimmer and installed the brush blade. Tightened with an 11mm socket and went to work.

Screw drivers
Took two screws out replaced cleaner assembly put the two new screws that came with it in. Replaced filter put put filter cover on. Took less than 15 minutes and that includes finding my star screwdrivers
