20133 (1988) Kenmore Range - Instructions

EXTREMELY simple - drop in. AND- the part cost less than half the price quoted by appliance vendor...2 years earlier !!! This site is a marvelous resource for parts one can install with minimal skill.

lifted the top center panel off removed old filter installed new easy peesy

removing the vent grid on top, by lifting off, then taking out the filter screen. removed the 2 screws on the back of the switchplate, then slide it back. made a drawing of the color wires and which way the switch faces... (it matters)

Read more itch, fitted the new one (paying attention to where the little prongs and big prongs were on the old switch. used the nut-driver to press on the new nuts that came with the switch, and hooked back up the wires, and put it back.

Simply pull off old knob and press new one in place. Works great.

We cut off the electricity to the stove before touching anything. We removed the 2 screws on the plate that is mounted to the inner wall of the oven. Then we pulled the element out 2-3 inches and disconnected the wires. We connected the wires on the new bake element and pushed it into place, inserted the screws and DONE!

The bi ... Read more gger part of the "repair" was the clean up of the fire extinguisher residue inside the oven due to the fire.

I tilted the unit back enough to scew the new legs into the threaded holes.

Un screwed the two screws in the downdraft section enough to release the unit that holds the surface burner controls.Then removed the control nob, unscrewed the two screws that holds the switch in the unit, removed the wires, making sure the color of the wires were placed on the same contact point. First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires.

This same repair 2 years ago thru a Factory repair "professional" had cost $200. My cost $42.00!! Cost to replace the entire range...$1700.00.

Remove old filter- put in new filter. EASY!!!!!!!!

even though these sre washable filters it's still necessary to change them after so much time

Simple. Cleaned up glass, when new glass arrived dissembled metal frame, reassembled putting metal screws in with screwdriver.

My husband and I couldn't believe we were able to do this!!!So easy! We were dancing around the kitchen!!!!! We credit the advice of other do-it-yourselfers. Very accurate and true. Changed out surface burner switch.Unscrewed two screws, changed plug onto new switch.Don't forget to turn off power!
