bottom heating element burn out.
  • Gerald from Lanett, AL
  • Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Nutdriver, Screw drivers
got new part delivered two days after ordering. I turned off breaker, used a 1/4" wrench to remove the fasteners holding the heating element to the back inside wall of the oven. used screw drivers (one Phillips and one flathead) to remove the screws holding the heating element to the wires. ensure you pull the wires slight out (easily) to ensure they don't pull back into the oven wall. unplug the element from the wires, install new element in reverse fashion and voila, done.

original bottom heating element melted down into wall
  • Craig from Anderson, SC
  • Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
Removed the element and put in a new one. Screw mounted interface to 230 mains involved removing two screws in oven wall and two connecting the main wires. Screws were provided with element. Effortless replacement saved an expensive house call and/or oven replacement. Oven is 44 years old and Parts Select had an original replacement p art here in 4 days at new years. Part was only $18.45. Parts Select rocks!

Very low oven heat
  • Richard from Jacksonville, OR
  • Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Nutdriver, Screw drivers
Ordered new element (super-easy to select the right one at this site!). Turned off stove breakers. Removed two screws holding mounting hinge plate with nutdriver. Detached wires with regular screwdriver. Attached wires to new element lugs with screwdriver, using furnished new screws. Reinstalled element hinged mounting plate with screws a nd nutdriver. Only difficulty is 1) working bent over inside the oven because the wires are short, and 2) wire screws are regular, not Philips, with shallow slots so screwdriver slips out frequently.

element was not heating
  • JOHN from STREATOR, IL
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
I unscrewed the screw that held the element in place and then took the hex head nuts holding the 3 wires off the old element. When taking the wires off, I had the new element next the old and put each on the same connection one at a time to make sure I replaced the wires in the same location they were on the old element. After connectin g the 3 wires, I reattached the element to the range.

The repair went well and once again my stove that was installed back in 1968 is working perfectly. We will be buying another 6" burner and 2-8" so we have them when they begin to burn out. We looked everywhere for a replacement and was told they do not make them anymore, but we found it here. Thank you!

Old bake element burned out
  • Lorraine from El Campo, TX
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Nutdriver
First, I turned off the power at the breaker box. Then, I removed the 2 screws attaching the bake element to the back wall of the oven. Next, I pulled the element out a few inches and removed the screws holding the element to the wires at the rear of the oven. Finally, I reattached the new element to the wires with the screws and then reattached the element plate to the rear wall of the oven. I turned the power back on at the breaker box, and tried the new element. It worked! Also, shipping was real fast, like 2 days from the time I placed the order to receiving the element.
