My husband and a friend did the work. I was not there but was told that there was no problem. Everything is working well now.

Replacing the cycling thermostat did not fix the problem on my whirlpool gas dryer. I then did more research on the internet and found that a likely cause was the 2 solenoids coils that control the gas valves. I replaced these and this and now the dryer works great. I had no idea how to open up the dryer to get at these, so it took a little while to figure out. 1) Lift up on front of dryer top to pop top off of 2 spring clips. 2) Reach down through top opening and find 2 bolts that attach dryer front to dryer body and remove with a nut driver. 3) Lift up on dryer front to release it from 2 hooks that it hangs on. 4) Remove 2 screws for bracket that holds coils in place. 5) Unplug coils and put in new ones. 6) Reinstall in reverse order. Problem solved. Great service from your site. Received parts 1 day after order using regular ground shipping.

Replace with new latch.

Pulled out the broken part than easily snapped the new part into place..

Remove heater assembly, Modify replacement thermostat mounting including connector, replace burn't wire, reinstall

removed rear cover of dryer (approx. 10 screws)and replaced cycling thermostat located near blower per easy instructions

I did a quick research online and found PartSelect to have the best price. I ordered my part on Monday 8/6 and to my tremendous surprise FedEx delivered it Tuesday 8/7!! I did not pay for overnight delivery. My son happened to come by that day and he took a small flathead screwdriver, pried the old one out and inserted the new part. Done in 5 minutes! PartSelect will be my supplier from now on.

First, I replaced the male end which was just two screws and simple replacement of pushing the fastener into the door frame. When finished I noticed the female end was damaged as well. Glad the female part came as well. This required taken off the front trim around the door (four screws - 2 each side) and then the door. The installing of the female end was easy with a little push. The damaged female end was already hanging out so easy to grab and remove. Otherwise I would have had to remove the front panel. Note You need to put the door trim back on before reattaching the door.

This was real easy just slid the latch in front panel and attached to latch assembly to the door. The repair was about 45 seconds.

turn off elec./disconnect at recep.- remove vent pipe- remove back of dryer- remove each part and re-install new part- relaced thermal cut-off, thermostat, fuse, and heat element...time about 30 min. also vacuumed dryer and vent pipe-time less than 15 min.- parts arrived day after they were ordered.

My husband took the back off the dryer and the Thermostate fell apart in his hands. So detecting the problem was easy. Ordered a new thermostat it arrived in 2 days. Tok him 30 minutes to install and get dryer put back together. Works better than it had been.

Pretty easy to fix, hardest part was having to get the screws out of the inside of the dryer to replace the sensor itself. Once that was done it was pretty quick! PLUS super fast shipping on my part!! Was fixed before any repair places even called me back!!

I would like to say first of all that I was amaized and pleased at how simple the ordering of this part was and while looking at the parts diagram on you website I noticed the door swing was optional and could be easily changed and the dryer came from the factory with a latch installed on both sides of the door. In our laundry room the dryer sits to the left of the washer and the door to the dryer opened to the right which has always been a slight inconvenience. . . So instead of changing out the broken part, I took the door and hinge off with my cordless screwdriver (6-8 screws) and turned it around and remounted it on the opposite side. . . Simple! I never took the new part out of the ups envelope. Now I have a spare so I taped the new part in the envelope to the back of the dryer in case I ever need it and now we have more convenience with the door swinging the correct way. Sweet deal! Both the latch on the door and the strike plate were replaced. A technician from Parts-Select came and leveling and removal of possible obstructions were done. It looked like it might stay closed but popped open with temperature additions during the wash cycle. The door seals had been replaced and probably were putting some additional pressure on the door. I inserted the "magic bullet" --- (a screw) in above the strike plate and that solved the problem---door stays shut. As a side note, the screw originally used was inserted in an electrical wire plastic connector and inserted but it appears that shutting the door too hard caused it to pop into the cavity behind the latch (not into the washer itself). So I used a plastic sheet rock anchor with large spiral threads which was a larger diameter than the strike-plate slot and therefore when the door was shut hard there was no way that it could be dislodged. It was a smaller size anchor in order to not put excessive pressure on the stike-plate. Since the plastic anchor had a phillips head slot I did not have to use a metal screw to get the anchor in.
