I replaced the male end first hoping that a change in the female part would not be needed. Unfortunately no. I used needle nosed pliers to pry the male part out and pushed the new part in. The female part of the door catch was more difficult. I didn't do it in "textbook" form, but got the job done with pliers and a screwdriver. Worth ever y penny to fix correctly instead of rigging it. Do it!

My husband is the one who fixed the door. He said he just popped it into place and was done in just a couple of seconds! The best part though was the quick service we received. . . I ordered the part around 10:30 in the morning, and it was at my front door by 5pm the next day!!! What great service!!!! We will definitely do business a gain with partselect. Com if we ever need more parts.

The door catch kit is soo easy. They give you instructions on which one to use depending on your dryer and it fit perfectly into the door. This was great especially since it was so inexpensive! My husband thought we would have to replace the door.

The latch on my dryer door wasn't working. I was having to shove a towel in the door to get it to stay shut until I was able to repair it.

All I had to do was get the model number off of the dryer and plug that information in online and within a couple of days the part arrived. It was great! There were directions that came with the part that explained how to replace the old latch with the new one.

I remember in the "olden days" when I would of had to call a repai r guy out and paid a lot more than the $12.00 I did to replace the part myself. And, the only reason it was $12.00 dollars instead of $5-6 was because I had it shipped overnight.

Awesome!

The real story here is that there was an ANSWER and a SOLUTION, to what was a GREAT
annoyance. If I wouldn't have found a part, I may have run off and bought a new dryer, when I really didn't need to, or paid A LOT of money for a repair man to come out. THANK YOU for your se rvice. You made my life easier.

Removed (2) Philips screws from the lint filter at the top of the dryer. Used a standard screwdriver to pry open the top of the dryer (it hinges back toward the wall). On the inside of the front panel removed a bolt with a socket on the right and left side. Disconnected two wires from the door safety switch (Make sure to unplug the unit f irst). Lift up on front panel and remove it from the slide connectors at the bottom on right and left sides. Under the drum on the right side pull drive belt slack towards motor and slip off of the pulley. The drum should come out freely. Both rollers are visible remove the triangle clips and the rollers will come off. On lower roller support use needle nose pliers to remove the washer clip that holds the vertical support arm. Reverse this procedure to assemble the dryer again. There is an excellent video that is supplied online. Watch it first , it was very helpful to me.
