What does this part do? Where is it installed? I have an infuriating tiny leak that drips from the lower left-hand corner of the closed tank door during wash operation. The main opening gasket has been replaced. Wash arm is clear, everything else is normal. I have not opened up the door panel yet. Could something be leaking to the interior of the door like the detergent dispenser, or vent right above it? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you for your question. This is actually just your spring gasket, it installs at the bottom of your machine. However, there is a gasket inside of your vent that can sometimes deteriorate over time. It could be that gasket that has gone and now you are getting the leaking at the bottom of your door there. I would suggest taking apart your door to inspect that gasket. Now the spring gasket does keep the bottom corners of your dishwasher in place so that everything will seal up tight. If you notice that one of your corners is drooping, it could be that your spring needs to be replaced. Good luck with your repair.
