How do i change out a dryer cord with a three-prong plug for one with a four-prong plug? The four-prong plug wires are color-coded, but there is no color coding either on the three-prong plug wires or the connections on the back of the dryer.

Thank you for your question. If you do not feel comfortable doing a repair like this, I would say contact an appliance repair technician so that they can do it for you. Doing a job like this can cause serious harm if not done correctly. Please make sure that the appliance is unplugged before doing a repair like this. On a 4 prong plug, you need to match the colors to where they are on your terminal. Red with red, black with black, and your white with white. The green wire is a grounding wire. You should have a bolt around the frame of the terminal on the machine. You would unscrew this bolt and then screw that green wire into place. Good luck with your repair.

Timer won't advance. Tried replacing thermal fuse and the high limit thermostat, per instructions at this website. Bought the parts from this website. No help. Wherever you set the timer knob, that's where it stays.
