Parts arrived in a timely fashion. Videos show should be easy repair. Purchased the cold control thermostat and defrost timer as my 20 y.o. refrigerator seemed to have too cold temperatures in the fridge section while freezer was fine. I was getting the occasional frozen veggie and the calibrated thermometer I was using indicated temperatures done to -7C. It was puzzling as it seemed intermittent. While checking the thermometer calibration I discovered a bubble in the column, so once I removed it and verified I am now monitoring temperatures again. I’ve also added a set of wireless thermocouples and bimetal thermometers to supplement the calibrated liquid-in-glass I normally use. Last 24hrs fridge 2C to 5C, freezer -18 to -22, so will monitor for a bit more before considering replacing parts.

Refrigerator would not run but interior light was on.
I unplugged the refrigerator, then opened the door and removed four screws holding the plastic electrical panel to the interior top of the main refrigerator compartment and noticed the cold control was corroded badly, apparently from moisture in the panel. I ordered a new one from partselect.com. When it arrived the next day, I then pulled off the control knob, unclipped the cold control, unplugged the three wires to the control, then removed the styrofoam insulation blocks holding the thermocouple wire and then removed the thermocouple wire to complete the removal. I then reversed the process to install the new thermostat and control. That is repositioned the thermocouple wire, put the insulation blocks back to hold the wire, then replugged the three electrical wires, clipped the control back and pushed the control knob back on and finally screwed the panel back to the top of the main compartment and plugged the refrigerator electrical cord back in to provide current to the refrigerator. It immediately started up and ran fine. Total time - about 8 minutes.

top freezer working properly, but lower fridge not cooling.
since I had my fridge since 2003 it seems that I've gotten my moneys worth but it has worked flawlessly with no issues. I did not want to part with it so I troubled shoot the system and realized that it could have been number of things so I just decided after reading some reviews here on this site I decided to just purchase the items that would be effecting the fridge not working properly which was the evaporator fan, defrost thermostat, defrost timer, temperature cold control thermostat, I also cleaned the condenser coils in the back of the unit so they can be able to withdraw heat from the unit. my repair and installation took about 4 hours due to the cleaning of the coils but now the fridge is working like brand new. thanks to this sitt and it's comprehensive video tutorials on installations and repair it my job a lot easier to do.this is not my first time ordering from this site and will not be my last. anyone considering ordering from this site do not hesitate there are great with parts and customer service.
After waiting over 2wks for my part to arrive, I purchased the part locally and made the repair the same day as I am still waiting for the part to arrive from you guys. Your customer service really needs improving. I paid for 2 day shipping, what a joke. I will be returning the part as soon as I receive it thanks.

I want to mention this is a garage ref with freezer on top. Freezer was to warm 20-32 deg.
Replaced thermostat and defrost timer and still freezer to warm. After research with U-tube video of (Fixin it with Pappy) discovered that my fridge has one thermostat in fridge section and in cold months (live in ohio)the garage is cold therefore themostat in fridge does"nt need to tell the compressor to kick on. Pappy is a retired engineer and in very easy to follow instructions will show you how to fix this problem. Strongly suggest to search for his video on Utube. I did as he instructed and my fridge freezer works great in cold weather now. Its apparent to me I wasted my money on the parts. I didn't` need to replace. Just happy my Beer fridge is working all seasons now. John from Ohio
Disconnect the power. To install the Defrost timer which is located inside the console at the top of the fridge I followed a YouTube video. It is very easy. Keep in mind that the Defrost timer comes settled in defrost mode so the compressor will not start after the power is reconnected.There is a hole in the console just behind the Defrost timer where you engaged it with a flat driver and rotate the clock until the compresor start. Now the compressor works for 6 hours and stop for 20 minutes for the defrosting cicle. The freezer now is freezing the meat!!
Refrigerator was to warm, about 50 degrees. Freezer working fine.
Came across your site and upon checking site out, I ordered the above parts. Repair was easy, thanks to your tutorial. Did not fix problem, so I posed a question to your site and it was recommended I replace the evap fan. I ordered that part. Thank goodness for next day shipping. That repair was easy as well, thanks to feedback from one of your other customers who had a similar issue. That repair did fix the problem.
Installation was fairly straight forward. The major complaint is that the problem returned 2 weeks later. I don’t know if I care to re-invest in another switch. Now what?

My cold control thermostat, situated on the top of the refrigerator compartment, needs to be replaced. Do you have that part, and, second, which contact does the red wire go to? I think the part number is pf2-802-029. Or maybe it's 241537103. Not sure which.

Frig thermometer is saying freezing, and items are really cold, i got a service man out put in control temperature part 241537103.Few days ago.. its still really cold.. what else should i try?? it cost my 175.00 . but im not sure its the problem..

Refrigerator works but no cool in freezer. You suggest defrost thermostat but reading that says its if there is no cool in refrigerator and freezer is cool. I have no cool in freezer but cool in refrigerator. Would that be defrost timer??? or maybe but hopefully not the defrost heater?

Thank you for your question. If the freezer is too warm, the defrost heater fixes the issue the majority of the time. There are some parts that you will need to check also if the defrost heater is not the issue. Hi Alam, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Defrost Thermostat, PartSelect Number: PS469510.The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps!

I have a Crosley model crt185lw1. The power to our house went out recently during a brief storm. It was out over night and when it came back on in the morning, neither the refrigerator fan or compressor will come on. The light still comes on so I know it's getting power. We bought it used a year ago and it has run perfectly until now. Any ideas?

My fridge is warm and freezer not freezing. I purchased a new defrost timer and defrost thermostat and installed both however fridge is still not working. The compressor is working properly. What else can it be?

Hello Dennis, Thank you for the question. If the fans are all running at the back of the Freezer and down at the compressor, you may have a defective Cold Control Thermostat. This cold control thermostat cycles on and off regularly to keep your refrigerator cold. We hope this helps!

My refrigerator stops running (freezer, too), but when I knock the refrigerator control unit, the refrigerator starts back up and cools properly. It seems that something with a motor in the refrigerator control unit is worn out, but I don't know what I should replace. Thanks for any help.

Hello George, thank you for your question. When you are having temperature problems in your fridge, there are a few parts that could cause the issue. You can use a multi meter to test these parts. Make sure you cut power to your appliance before doing any repairs or tests. First you should test your defrost thermostat, part number: PS469269. Place the thermostat in ice cold water for 2-3 minutes after removing it from your appliance. It should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Another part to check would be your defrost heater, part number: PS453325. Remove it from the appliance. It should be reading anywhere between 0 - 50 ohms to be working.
