My "hot cooktop" indicator light remains on, even after a day of not using range top. What part(s) are involved and how hard is it for me to replace?

Hello Bob, thank you for your question. If the light is staying on, but the burners are shutting off, the indicator light is stuck in an on position and would need to be replaced. To do this you would open the oven door, remove the two screws from under the front edge of the cook top and then lift the cook top up. You will need to have someone holding the top or have something you can prop in there to keep it up and stable. Once the top is lifted, the wires are removed from the old light switch, installed on the new one, the part is removed from its mounting bracket and the new one put in its place.
