I get the error code F8 E5, temperature sensor, randomly with my microwave. The problem is not ventilation related because the error occurs when the machine is completely cold and hasn't been used in hours. Could you identify which sensor this code refers to so I can get a new part to try?
For model number YWMH76719CS3
Hi Mitch,
Thank you for your question. There is a humidity sensor listed under your model number. The part number for it is PS8759587. If you are getting this error code, the sensor may have failed. If you are getting this error code, there are some steps that you may try to resolve this issue. First, press CANCEL - CANCEL - START to verify the microwave failure code, and then press CLOCK/OPTIONS to display the exhaust air temperature sensor reading. Make sure the sensor temperature reading is at room temperature, between 50F and 90F, and verify the failure code. If failure code is the same, remove power from the microwave by either unplugging it or turning the breaker off and then remove the sensor from the microwave. You will need to measure the resistance between the connector pins and make sure the reading is between 9.5K and 10.5K at room temperature. If you do not get these readings of if there is a short or an open circuit, you will need to replace the sensor. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
