Water and ice did not work when pressing on bar. Auto fill water would work.
Used a vidieofrom utube that described a similar situation.

https://youtu.be/VhVVK1pnupc

The only difference from this video was that my unit did not have the 2 screws that this video shows to remove.
I used the plastic knife to pry open the cover of the unit from that point everything internally was about the same.

How is the wr17x13060 (part #105) switch removed - does the entire door have to be removed? Is this a mechanical switch or a transistor based switch?
For model number GFE29HSDDSS
PartSelect logo
Hi Mark, Thank you for your question. You should not have to remove your door. To get to this part you just gently pop off the outer frame of your dispenser area. You can do that with a putty knife. I would suggest putting some masking tape over the knife, just to avoid scratching your appliance. I believe this is transistor based but you would need to double check that with your manufacturer. Good luck with your repair.

You answered back that 2 screws hold the display. My unit doesn’t have 2 screws holding anything together. Any idea how it may come apart so i can install the new paddle part?
For model number Pfe29PSDass

Hello Mark, thank you for your question. The dispenser control board is held in place with something. Either screws or tabs. Check the drip tray (or base of water ice area) for it to slide outward or upward (or combination) Once removed you should find screws or plastic tabs to release the remainder of the assembly. _ Pull Dispenser Tray out until it stops, _ Locate tab in the center on the bottom and push up, _ Pull Dispenser Tray assembly out, _ Lift metal Dispenser Tray out at center notch to see if there are screws or tabs there. I hope this helps!

My actuator paddle gets stuck and doesn't release when we pull the cup away. You have to manually pull it back with fingers. What parts do i need and how do i remove that paddle for cleaning and/or replacement?
For model number GE PFE29PSDCSS

Hello Erik and thanks for writing. It does sound like the spring # PS8746251 that pushes the actuator back has become weakened, you need to replace it and you should be fine. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime

There is water and ice but the dispenser pedal doesn't work, do i need #104 and 105 only? How can i replace them?
For model number GYE22KMHHES

Hi Joe, Thank you for your question. If that is the only part that is broken on your appliance, then yes. To replace those parts you would have to remove the outer frame of your dispenser so that you can get to the screws that hold your dispenser housing in. You can remove your outer frame by using a putty knife to pop the frame out of place. I would suggest putting some masking tape on the blade to help protect your fridge. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My GE profile fridge has just started malfunctioning when filling a cup of water or getting some ice from the dispenser. It won't shut off when you remove the cup, until you open one of the doors. The problem is somewhat intermittent ... sometimes it shuts off when removing the cup, sometimes it doesn't. last night it didn't work at all. however, this morning it worked. would this be a situation for replacing the cover paddle with wr17x13060, or do you think there is more to the problem? thanks.

Hi Mike, Thank you for your question. It could be your paddle that is the issue. It does sound like it may be however if your paddle is fine, the issue may lie in your dispenser board. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

How do you get the front dispenser apart to replace the actuator paddle part #wr17x13060
For model number PFE29PSDASS
PartSelect logo
Hello Mark, thank you for your question. There should be two screws up under the dispenser that holds the control panel onto the fridge. Once those screws are removed, you can pull the control panel down and out. Note the location of the wire connectors then disconnect them. Now, un thread the screws holding the dispenser module release the water tube from the retaining clips and quide hole, then remove the dispenser module. Once the module is removed from the unit you can use a small flat head screwdriver to release the actuator mounting tab and then pull the old paddle free. I hope this helps!

I need to replace part WR17X13060, I think it is called the dispenser lever assembly. But, how do I get to it? I have removed the 2 small screws in the top of the opening, but from there I do not know how to remove the front panel.

water line keeps freezing up
For model number GYE22HMKJES
PartSelect logo
Hi Mark, Thank you for your question. This is a common issue and it is caused by the insulation in the door absorbing moisture and not insulating the water line. If it is frozen you will need to unthaw it. There is a dispenser water tube heater kit that you may purchase to keep the water line from freezing. The part number listed under your model number for the kit is PS1766223. If you would like to place an order for it, you may order it either online or by calling our customer service line and anyone will be happy to assist you. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.

My GE refrigerator, ice, and water dispenser is not working. The ice maker is working and I think this happened after we replaced the water filter. Any suggestions of what it could be?
For model number GFE28GSKMSS
PartSelect logo
Hello Diane, thank you for your question. One reason may be the dispenser switch may have failed. No voltage, no working dispenser. A multimeter can be used to check for continuity to determine if the dispenser switch is working properly. If there is no continuity, then the switch needs to be replaced. The water dispenser handle continues to dispense water after I remove the glass. Is it a spring that needs to be replaced? If so, How do I replace it? Thank you
For model number PYE23PSDCSS
PartSelect logo
Hi Don, Thank you for your question. It is normal for a small amount of water to drip from the dispenser after you have pressed the actuator. If this is not what is happening, you should check the paddle, the spring, the dispenser control board and the water inlet valve. Once you have determined the part you need, please feel free to call customer service. We are open 7 days a week and anyone will be happy to assist you. We look forward to hearing from you!
