Excessive noise was coming from the freezer section of my side be side refrigerator
Cleaning out the freezer took the longest time. Once the freezer was clean I turned off the freezer which did not deactivate the light in the freezer. This is a tight area to work in and not having to hold a flashlight made the job much easier. I then removed the shelf slider brackets for the 3 lower pullout drawers. The next step was to remove the interior aluminum back panel (6 screws) which covers the evaporator motor and the coil. Before removing the 3 electric wires that are attached to the evaporator motor make sure the power is off to the motor. The removal of the motor was fairly straightforward and I would suggest removing the plastic fan blade first and then the connector wires. It helped knowing in advance that the plastic fan blade would come off with a little prying. Be careful when prying the fan off so that you don’t damage the plastic motor mount bracket. Once you have installed the motor I would suggest turning the freezer back on to make sure that the evaporator motor works before reinstalling the aluminum back panel and slider brackets.

Refrigerator/Freezer not cooling
Disconnect power to refrigerator. Removed all food from Freezer. Removed all Shelves and shelf clips. Used phillips screwdriver and removed 6 screws from lower rear panel covering evaporator coil. Removed panel. Pulled plastic fan blade off top of motor shaft. Unclip top front of black motor retainer clip which then allowed the rear clip to unhook. Removed clip. Then removed 3 wires from fan motor, noting proper location for replacement. Slide the fan motor out to the left. Installed new motor. Reinstalled clip, hooking rear side first. Then rehooked the 3 wires. Slide fan blade back on top until secure. Tested everything at this point before reassembling rear panel. Then replace rear panel, replace the 6 screws, replace shelf clips and shelves and replace food. Very easy to do and saved about $150 over a service call to troubleshoot and re-visit to install after getting part

My drain pan is filling and overflowing on the floor. Will replacing this part fix the problem? Is this what causes the water to evaporate during defrost cycle?
For model number GS6SHA
Hi Barbara,
Thank you for your inquiry. If your drip pan is overflowing, this may be caused by excessive humidity or there is not enough heat exchange from the compressor. The heat from the compressor is what evaporates the water in the drip pan. There may also be an issue with the a clogged or frozen drain line or a condenser fan issue. You may also have to check the defrost timer as well. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Freezer is cold but refrigerator is warm and water is collecting under the vegetable/meat bin. What part would I need to solve the problem?
For model number ED2GHEXNQO1
Hi Robert, Thank you for the question. The first thing to check would be the fan at the back of the freezer. If this fan is not running the air would not circulate properly. If the fan is running you can check the rubber gasket around the door. Make sure there are no gaps or defects. If it is letting warm air in it can effect the temperature and cause sweating inside the appliance. If the coils have a ice build up or frost, you may need to replace the Bi-Metal Defrost Thermostat. If there is no frost build up I suggest testing the Thermostat Assembly. It is also a good idea to check the Air Diffuser Assembly to make sure it is opening and closing, letting cold air from the freezer over to the Fresh Food section. Hope this helps!

I have a kenmore coldspot 106.57282791. Noticed today that fridge was only cool, not cold. The freezer was at 17f, fridge at 46f. (sigh)
could hear the fan come on when freezer door was left open for a minute (while checking things out).
shifted control to direct most cold to fridge, and temperature control dial was set on 4 (6 is Max cold).
on the fridge side, a small amount of cold air is coming through the diffuser.
checked temperature a while later, fridge now up to 50f (guess i'm throwing a lot of stuff out).
turned controls to direct Max cold to fridge, and set to coldest.
checked about 5 hours later (just now), and fridge temp down to 30c.
i've the balance to be even between freezer and fridge for now and see what happens.
from those details, any idea if i'm looking at an evaporator fan/motor, diffuser, or other problem?
For model number 106.57282791
Hello John, thank you for inquiring. For this symptom, there are a few parts that may provide a fix. You may want to try replacing the Thermostat Assembly part PS11739232; the Defrost Timer part PS11723171; or the Bi-Metal Defrost Thermostat part PS11750673. We hope this helps.

Fan motor making a rumbling noise and the rpm's rise and fall slightly. Can you tell me what might be happening? All else seems to be working.
For model number ED5LHAXWT00
Hi Anthony, thank you for reaching out. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the fan blades first for any damage. If that is not causing the issue, then you may need to check the evaporator fan motor, part number PS557957, as it is most likely faulty and may need to be replaced. We hope this helps!

Compressor not getting any power
For model number KSRS22QAAL10
Hi Lee, Thank you for the question. If there is no power going to the compressor, I suggest checking the outlet the appliance is plugged into. You can also check the wiring to make sure nothing has come lose or is defective. If the compressor is getting power but not coming on, I suggest testing the Capacitor, Part Number: PS11757023 and the Overload Part Number: PS392659, with a Multi Meter to see if they are defective. Hope this helps!

Fridge emits a loud buzzing which seems to be coming from the evaporator cover vibrating. When the cover is removed and the evaporator fan motor is on, the noise disappears. Have tried putting weatherstripping on the inside edges of the cover, but that didn't help. Thank you for your help. ~rick
For model number KSRB22QGSS00
Hi Rick,
Thank you for your question. If the noise is coming from the cover when the motor is on, the cover may not be secure or it is possible that the fan blade may intercepting the cover. You will need to inspect the parts to see which ones are causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Frig and freezer are cold, but the center door seals and frame get very hot. Is it a fan problem or something else?
For model number WRS321SDHW08
Hi Wendy, thank you for the question. Check if the condenser coils are dirty. Dirty coils can cause the refrigerator to work harder, leading to excess heat. Cleaning the coils might resolve the issue. If the condenser fan is not working properly, it can cause the refrigerator to overheat. Check if the fan is running when the compressor is on. Otherwise, replace the condenser fan motor, part number PS16730651. It turns the condenser fan blade to move air across the condenser coil. We hope this solves your problem!
