The broiler on my built-in oven does not heat. I suspect it is the element however, since i will be repairing the oven myself i need advice. What is the probability of my problem being a bad broil element? Because it is an expensive part, please provide me with some troubleshooting procedures. Additionally, could i remove the broil element and test for continuity or specific resistance? I have verified that i am following the operation instructions completely to no avail. Thank you
For model number FEB24S2ABB
Hi Chester,
Thank you for your inquiry. You can test this part with a multi-meter. If your element is reading between 0 - 50 ohms, then your broil element has continuity. In most cases it is the broil element that is the issue. However testing it will be able to tell you whether or not it is the broil element that is the issue. Good luck with your repair.

How to remove the broiler element after removing the 2 phillips screws
For model number FEB27S5ABB
Hello and thank you for writing.
Once the screws are removed entirely you should be able to just remove the element towards you then unplug both terminals and replace it with the new one by securing it back with the screws. Careful with the new element so you do not damage it by bending or forcing it in place.
For your convenience, we have attached the link to our repair video. We hope this helps. Good luck with your repair.

How hard is it to replace the broil elements
For model number PLEB27T8CCB
Hello Cindy, Thank you for the question. Most customers have been able to perform the repair on their own. Make sure to unplug your range from the power source or shut off from the house circuit breaker. You will need a Phillips screwdriver to complete this repair. We hope this helps!
