This part is missing and fridge gets to cold on hugest setting. Could not having this part in place cause fridge to over cool?

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes this is one of the parts that could cause the refrigerator to become too cold. There are some other parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the defrost timer, the defrost thermostat and the cold control thermostat. Ice taste bad out of ice maker or ice trays is there a air filter somewhere

Hi Mike,
Thank you for your question. No, your appliance does not have an air filter. There are many reasons why you could have bad tasting water. Most of the time though it has to do with the water line going from your valve up to your ice maker, or your ice maker tray itself. There is a coating on the tray where your ice is made and over time it can wear off and effect the way your ice tastes. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
