LG front load washer leaking
My washer began to leak from underneath the machine onto the floor. I could see from the rear access panel that it was leaking from above toward the front of the machine. I assumed the main door gasket needed to be replaced. There is a great Youtube video for LG front load washers that shows how to disassemble the machine to replace the gasket. My machine's door gasket (part # 4986ER0004F)had a little drain hole in the bottom of the gasket that connected to a little drain tube. As it turned out, the door gasket did have a little cut in it, but the drain tube was also very blocked up with gunk. I removed the little drain tube and cleaned it out using hot water. I used two spring removal tools that I purchased from PartSelect to remove and reinstall retainer springs that hold the door gasket in place. These tools made the job of removing the old gasket and reinstalling the new gasket much easier, and PartSelect sells them much cheaper than any other place I could find. The repair went well and the leak is gone.

Our washing machine is 5 years old and the rubber door boot seal developed mildew around the inside of the boot. Was time to replace. I believe part of the problem was there is and small drain hole in the bottom of the door boot that over the years clogged up with lint from the clothing. After boot
Parts ordered were exact fit. Will use Part Select again for my washing machine and also dryer needs. See above on repair process. Thanks Jay.
