Easy repair, worked as expected!
I had a problem where my laundry machine would stop every time it got to a drain cycle. I did a bit a research and found that the lid switch was the probable cause. I ordered this part, it came in the mail very quickly and the repair was literally less than 10 minutes. the new lid switch fixed my problem!

Washer would not spin or drain
I went to You tube sight to see how I can remove front of washer so I could inspect inside and see if the problem was visible. A butter knife easily released the tabs that hold the front of washer on. My wife in the mean time found a you tube video that showed the same problem and I ordered the part right away. It showed just two screws and a plug that had to be removed. I always buy my parts from part-select because the quality and speedy delivery and tracking is great! This was an easy fix!

Install lock switch on washer light flashing do i need reprogram
For model number Gtup240em5ww
Hi Bob,
Thank you for your question. Without knowing what light is flashing I can only guess. I am assuming that it is your lid lock that is flashing, usually to get rid of that you would press and hold the Start/Cancel button for about 30 seconds and that would stop it from flashing. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

This part is an assembly, correct ? It doesn't provide a photo
For model number GTUP240EM5WW
Hello Peter, thank you for your question. This part is the locking switch, and the switch housing. It does not include the wire harness, but that part shouldn't have to be removed unless there is damage to the wires themselves. I hope this helps!

Water start to fill and shut off never fill all the way
For model number gtup270gm4ww
Hi Charles,
Thank you for your question. If the washer is filling part way and shuts off the issue could be the door latch lid lock. This is a common issue and the reason for it maybe either electrical or mechanical. The lock will need to be replaced. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Washer slows to a trickle while filling when the lid is closed. A few seconds after opening the washer fills as it should. Several seconds after reclosing it slows to a trickle again. All signs point to lid switch. Sound accurate?

My washer will not start. I replaced the start switch and I already replaced the lid sensing thing that senses when the lid is closed that did not work and now I am looking at the lid lock switch is that my only option left? It is flashing on the control panel.
For model number 2671532110
Hi Simon,
Thank you for your question. If you have already replaced the start switch and the lid sensor, then you should check the door latch lid lock, part number PS3496878. The door latch lid lock is to lock the door on your washer when the appliance is in use. Your washer will not start if your door is not locked. If your latch is broken, you may not be able to start a cycle or open your washer door. You will need to test the door latch with a multi-meter. With your multi-meter on the Rx1 setting, touch the probes to the terminals, then press and hold the switch button down. You should receive a reading of zero. If you do not receive this reading, you will need a replacement lid switch.I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The lid lock light is flashing and the machine won’t start however nothing seems physically broken on the lid lock, is there anything I can do to get it started?
For model number GUAP270EM1WW
Hello Aidan, Thank you for the question. The Lid Lock may not show physical damage to be defective. The switch could be defective in the Lid Lock and causing it not to send the signal the Lid it Locked or allow it to actually lock. We recommend replacing the Door Latch Lid Lock. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
