I think i submitted an incomplete question a few minutes ago, i saw a thread on your site with a related question and answer. The control unit on my refrigerator (1201148)is chirping like a smoke alarm with a battery that needs replacing, only fainter. The digital display in the refrigerator isn't working either, but when you turn the refrigerator power on and off it momentarily lights up indicating it's not dead. Do you think replacing the control unit will solve my problem(s)? Also, do they make a special tool for releasing the plastic posts on the corner of the circuit board from it's mount? Look forward to hearing back from you. Thanks in advance,. Best regards,
Tad

Hello Tad, Thank you for contacting us. You first will need to pull the unit out so you can check the coils, compressor, and condenser. Cobwebs and dirt have a tendency to get in and around the rubber bushings that dampen vibration and can cause this sound as a result of the build up beginning to harden and rub on the mountings. You can also check your control unit with a multimeter. If you are unsure how a multimeter works, we do provide assistance on our website. Good luck with your repair!

Hello Andy, thank you for your question. Yes, this is a fairly simple repair. The wire harnesses of the unit plug into this piece. We would recommend you take pictures of the part before removing the old one to be sure the connections are placed in the correct place on the new board. Other than that its quite easy! If the part comes from the manufacturer with instructions we will always forward them onto you. I hope this helps!
