I have dryer wed9600tw1 put power on and push start and a code will flash f01 what do you think the problem is ?

Hi Bert,
Thank you for your inquiry. The F01 error code indicates that you have an issue with your electronic control board. This error may be caused by a power surge or a glitch through the electrical lines. You may be able to clear this code by unplugging the washer for 5 minutes. If the code returns after plugging the washer back in, then the electronic machine control board will need to be replaced. A no heat problem but more. When I unplug the dryer and then plug it back in after a few minutes the drum turns (the control dial was left on normal) right away but no lights lit on the panel. I press the start button and the lights come on (still no heat). I press the cancel button, no effect. I need to unplug in order for it to shut off. I checked continuity and get .000 on my ohm meter on the heater element and the high heat thermostat and the second thermostat. Any ideas aside from buying a new dryer. It was purchased new in 2008.
