This is a timer knob for your dryer. It is found on the control panel and allows you to turn your dryer on and adjust the settings. If the timer will not advance, or you notice the knob is damaged, you will need to replace it. This timer knob is white in color with a small red arrow printed on it, and is made of plastic. Timer Knob slipping and could not set dryer
Searched dryer model on Google, found partselect.com. Searched for Dryer model and a diagram of the dryer with all its parts appeared. Selected the timer knob on the diagram and it took me to the part, ordered it.
All steps took less than 10 minutes, and I had the new knob in my hands the next day and installed in about 3 minutes.
You saved a few dollars, plus not having to miss time from work waiting for a repair man.

The timer knob
It just slipped on. But, the ease in ordering this part was amazing. I am not mechanically inclined at all. I use repair people for mostly everytning, but, $50 to just look at it was too much!! Then I decided to look online and it was the right choice. I will use and/or suggest PartSelect ;-)

timer knob was cracked and did not turn the timer
replaced the old knob. No tools required. Less than 1 second.

Old knob would not turn shaft and dryer would not start. Cracked in center.
Turned off breaker, rmoved back panel, removed timer, replaced knob. Put back together.

My dryer will not shut off unless I open the door. I checked the control knob and it doesn't seem to be that
