Display on remote shows ambient temp, but I can't get it to adjust to a targeted temp. Help

According to our research, you can easily adjust the temperature by tapping or holding either the up ( ^ ) or down ( V ) button until the desired temperature is seen on the display. This temperature will be automatically maintained anywhere between 60 °F (16 °C) and 90 °F (32 °C). We hope this information is useful!
