My dishwasher will not work. The start/reset button is blinking. Is there a way to reset this? Is this a problem with the control module board or some other part that needs to be replaced?
For model number PDW7800N20BB
Hi Pat,
Thank you for your inquiry. I would suggest first trying to reset your machine. Disconnect power from your machine for one minute. Afterward reconnect the power and press your cancel button twice. Then attempt to start a new cycle. If the appliance still will not work then there is a malfunction in either your door switch (interlock switch) or your control panel itself. I would suggest testing the door switch with a multi-meter to see if that is the part causing your problem. If the dishwasher does not read that the door is closed, then the appliance will not start and you will get those flashing lights indicating that the cycle has been interrupted. Good luck with your repair.
My dishwasher started, filled with water, started wash cycle, then went silent for the duration of wash cycle. When I opened the door, dishes were covered with detergent and definitely still dirty. I smelled a hot plastic/electrical smell just before and during this time. Circuit breaker did not trip, though. After rebooting, the control panel went haywire when I tried to run it again, lots of flashing lights in no pattern. And same thing happened again to dishes. The appliance is 10 years old, do you think replacement of control panel will do the trick?

Hi Linda, Thank you for the question. This could also be a bad motor, PartSelect Number PS3652479. I suggest testing the motor with a Multimeter for continuity before replacing the control board. Hope this helps!

Hi the cable connecting the controls on the door and the control panel has ripped off at the control module side. Can i only replace the cable?
For model number PDW780P00SS
Hello Sumanth, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the cable is not sold separately. The cable that attaches the control panel touch buttons, to the board is part of the control panel itself, part number WD34X11461. I hope this helps!
