Refrigerator wasn’t cooling, but the freezer was.
Unplugged the fridge.
Took off the freezer door.
Took off the door brackets and the ice machine. Removed the back panel. Unplugging the light and the ice machine were a challenge to get to. Installation of the fan motor was simple. Reverse all the directions, done. Tough part was figuring out what to take off.

Noise appears to come from bottom freezer. Sound alternates over time between a constant humming (wearing sound?), and a cyclic whimpering sound of several seconds time duration. Could it be the evaporator fan motor?
For model number CFCP1NIZSS 6 yrs. old

Hi Robert, Thank you for your inquiry. Yes it could either be the evaporator fan motor or the fan blade causing the noise. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Is there a video to repair this part i've pulled off both the bottom freezer doors and didn't know if i have to take off the rails to get to the back panel and pull that off as well
For model number PGSS5RKZHSS

Hi Angela, Thank you for your question. You should not have to remove your rails. There should be enough room for you to remove the back wall panel of your freezer so you can get to your evaporator fan. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My freezer is working but fridge is warm…this model has freezer below and side by side doors up top. I condenser fan runs. Took apart freezer compartment and fan cover to get to evaporation fan, it was not running…when I touched the fan, it started back up…replaced everything and turned on turbo cool…freezer was good but fridge portion still not cooling…thoughts? I was planning on installing a new evaporation fan motor on Monday…are there any other things I should check?

Hello Brian, Thank you for your inquiry. We have researched the model number you have provided and also recommend checking the temperature sensor, the air damper control assembly, the inverter kit, and the defrost thermostat. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, we have videos available to assist you. Good Luck with your repair.

Usual cold air not blowing from bottom freezer into top refrigerator compartment. Had this problem a month ago, and it self fixed after a couple power cycles. Top temp swings seemed a bit wilder (33-40). Was that it dying? Now power cycling doesn't work. Freezer stays cold. French door top warming up since yesterday AM. Now at 56. Seems like the evaporator fan is not working. But usual fan in freezer not blowing either, but still staying cold. Before replacing the fan, are there any easier things to check? Thanks.

Hi Rich, thank you for contacting us. Considering the symptoms you mentioned, we would suggest checking the damper control assembly, part number PS2356289. It controls how much cold air is released from the freezer compartment into the fridge compartment. If it is faulty, it may cause the fridge to be too cold or too warm. We hope this information helps!
