My freezer temperature has been rising a couple times a day to as high as 22-25 degrees f but eventually goes back to 0 degrees. I had a tech come look at it and said he thought it could be the start relay. Does this sound accurate? I didn't want to replace it unless i could say with more certainty that would actually fix the problem. Thank you.

Hi Clay, Thank you for your question. This part is one of the parts that is listed that would fix this issue. Some other parts that fix this issue as well are the temperature sensor, the electronic control board and the run capacitor. If the technician has determined that the start relay is the part you need, then it should be the correct part. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My refrigerator's compressor seems to want to kick on, but doesn't. It tries to start about every minute or so and shuts off after a second. If I put my hear close to the overload/relay, I can hear it click every few seconds. I had a service tech look at it, but it wasn't doing it when he was here. I had unplugged the refrigerator for over 24 hours before he arrived. He plugged in the refrigerator and after a few minutes it started running again. He seem to think it is a circuit board, but he said he can't be sure. I tend to think it's the overload/relay. Can you help diagnose the problem?

Hi Henry, Thank you for the question.I would first test the Overload. It should read close to 5-6 ohms. You can also shake it to see if there is a rattle, if you hear a rattle it is defective. If the Overload is good you may have a defective control Board. Hope this helps!
