Water and Ice dispenser quit working.
Turned off power at C/B panel. Took cover off dispenser, removed 3 screws, board held in by 4 screws. Removed all 4, replaced board after removing connecter. Put back together. Turned power on. Worked perfectly. 15 minutes max, part was $81, recieved 3 days after ordered.

The dispenser control board is not working. The temperatures of the fridge and freezer are showing and the ice dispenser is working but you cant change from ice to water or anything else buttons do not respond.

I have no power going to the "water dispenser control board". I was able to verify the power going into the "dispenser switch board", but can not decide which is bad. I replaced the ribbon that goes from "dispenser switch board" to the water dispenser control board". But still no power. Any suggestions on which board coud be out?

Replaced water dispenser. No power off circuit board. What do i check?

Hello Leo, Thank you for your inquiry. First check the wiring for any fraying or loose connections. Then we recommend checking the following parts: micro-switch, ribbon cable harness, water dispenser control board, and dispenser switch board. You can test the parts with a multimeter. Why does the ice always comes out from my ice dispenser

Hello Nicol, Thank you for the question. If ice is dispensing without pressing the paddle, I suggest checking the Flap, PartSelect Number PS1526427 for make sure it is not stuck open or warped allowing ice to fall through. It may also have an issue with the Ice Actuator, PartSelect Number PS1526394. Hope this helps!
When i press the extra ice button the door water dispenser comes on and off by itself.

It is possible that the dispensing flap gets stuck at times and will cause this issue. There is a small spring the door spring # PS1526431 that over time weakens and needs to be cleaned or replaced. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.

I have had trouble in the past but can’t remember why I was into this but I had to replace the ribbon between control’s to make ice and water in door to work again. Extra ice etc: I bought a new ribbon and did not fix it this time. Do I need to replace part 38a?

Hello Mark, Thank you for the question. If all of the controls are working but it will not dispense Ice or Water, you can Test the 38A Micro Switches. With a multimeter when the little button on top is pressed in it should read closed or beep if you have that option on your meter. If the Switches are good, you may need to replace the Water Dispenser Control Board. We hope this helps!

This is in regard to the display board on the ice/water dispenser, your part PS1526494. I am studying the video to see if I can do this. In the video, the cable harness of the display board easily detaches; I do not have that kind of cable harness, mine is a very thin ribbon harness. Is there a video that shows how to properly release and re-attach that kind of ribbon cable? I'm afraid if I remove it by just pulling it out, I will not be able to get it back in.

Hello Fred, Thank you for your inquiry. Sadly, we do not have a video for properly releasing the cable for this part, but most cables can easily be released using a flat blade screwdriver or putty knife against a tab on the connector. We hope this helps.
