The vent behind the large deli drawer is icing/frosting over. Do you think the evaporator needs to be replaced?
For model number KFIS29PBMS00
Hello Lisa, thank you for your question. The issue is probably not the entire evaporator, but a part around that area. We would recommend testing the damper part number WPW10248595, evaporator fan motor part number W10395278, and the thermistor (temperature sensor) part number W10316760 that is located in the freezer section. I hope this helps!

My Whirlpool fridge has a iced build up behind grocery drawer. Freezer is working fine, but my fridge is not :(. Please advise
For model number WRF767SDEM01
Hello Pritesh, thank you for your question. We would recommend removing the shelving and the back wall of the fridge. There is a motor and heater back there that work to keep the unit defrosted. You may need to defrost what is back there then test the heater and thermostat, as well as the fan motor to see if they have failed. I hope this helps!

Thank you for response, and sorry for another question i did open up everything. It's all defrost. Turned back fridge on, i see there is a fan that is working. I don't know how can i check thermostat and heater? Also i did not see any motor so what am i missing here?
Hello Pritesh, Thank you for contacting us. When you are having temperature problems in your fridge, there are a few parts that could cause the issue. You can use a multi meter to test most of the parts. Make sure you cut power to your appliance before doing any repairs or tests. First you should test your defrost thermostat. Place the thermostat in ice cold water for 2-3 minutes after removing it from your appliance. It should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Another part to check would be your defrost heater. Remove it from the appliance. It should be reading anywhere between 0 - 50 ohms to be working. You could check your temperature sensor. To find the correct reading for this part you will have to refer to your tech sheet that comes with your appliance. You can usually find this tech sheet behind the bottom grille of your fridge on either the right or left side. These are the most common parts that cause this issue in your appliance. So it is suggested you check them first. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

There is ice built up behind the grocery drawer (middle drawer). Freezer and refrigerator parts are working. I removed the ice built up yesterday. But how to stop its accumulation in future.
For model number WRX988SIBM
Hi Ved, thank you for your question. You may want to check to see if your fridge is pushed up too closely to the wall. You may also want to check that your hinges are straight and your gaskets are sealing all the way around your door as well. Otherwise the parts to take a look at would be your compressor area and your defrost heater. Good luck with your repair.

Hey, our fridge started making a large buzz noise and after a hard reset it was fine for a few days, the noise came back and when we ran diagnostics it raise and issue with the evaporator fan. Iam wondering which parts I should replace on the unit?
Thanks!
For model number WRF736SDAM13
Hi Jack, thank you for contacting us. We recommend cleaning your fridge coils. If your fridge coils are dusty, it will overwork itself trying to cool down the inside of the fridge. After cleaning the evaporator coils, check if your fridge makes the same noise. You will need to check whether the noise is coming from the evaporator fan or motor. If the noise is coming out of the motor, you will need to replace it with part number PS11755853. If the evaporator fan is making noise, you will need to replace it with part number PS11731053. Please submit a new question if you have any follow-ups.

My refrigerator/freezer has stopped cooling entirely. I have replaced both evaporator fans and the control board with no success. The compressor does run when the unit is plugged in. Could this be a valve issue? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
For model number KRMF706ESS01
Hi Greg,
Thank you for your question. If the fresh food and freezer sections of your refrigerator are not cooling, we would recommend checking the thermistors and the defrost thermostat. We hope this helps!
