Dishwasher works now! part worked great
My KitchenAid dishwasher recently stopped working. The motor would not start, but the lights on the control panel still lit up, although they were oddly dim. After ruling out other possible causes, I purchase this capacitor as a hopeful fix. Sure enough, after a quick and easy install, the dishwasher works like normal. Although it was an expensive part, it was no doubt considerably cheaper than a service call.

Pump motor would not start
I did not get to repair my dishwasher using the part supplied by Partselect.com. I pulled my dishwasher out and found that the connector had fallen of the capacitor during installation. Happy to say that I returned the part for a full refund minus the shipping. Have bought from them before, and will again

Dw fills ok then sounds like motor is bound up for a couple seconds then pauses a couple secs. And does this 5 times then pumps water out and stops. I disassembled and made sure chopper spins and spun motor (stuck finger in hole that feeds sprayer) motor spins ok. Is this likely the start capacitor or a control board issue?
For model number Kudc10fxss6
Hi Robert, Thank you for the question. This sounds like an issue with the capacitor. If you have a Multimeter you can test the Capacitor. It will read a resistance reading that will go up very quickly to infinity if it is good. Hope this helps!

Machine shut down during wash and no lights or buttons work. Almost as if it has no power. Do have power into the machine.
For model number KUDS35FXSS9
Hello EG, thank you for your question. If the unit stopped during a cycle and the lights and buttons aren't working try unplugging or turning the breaker off to the dishwasher for about 10 minutes to see if that resets the unit. If it still will not power on, you probably have an issue with the electronic control board PartSelect Number: PS3651433. I hope this helps!

Unit has power to control board but no water is entering unit. Checked water valve and it is working properly. Checked capacitor on motor and found it bad. Would this have anything to do with no water going into unit? I don’t know the sequence of the operation of the dishwasher.
For model number 66517502200
Hello Blake, thank you for the question. In order for your dishwasher to fill, the water supply valve must be turned to the open position. Locate your dishwasher's water supply under the sink and twist the valve open as needed to allow water to flow freely through the water supply line and into the unit. The capacitor is not the issue for no water entering the unit. We recommend replacing the door switch, part number PS11745501. Good luck with your repair!
I replaced the control board, dishwasher ran good for about 35 minutes then stopped with the normal light flashing. I unplugged the dishwasher and plugged it back in. I pushed the cancel/drain button. The motor starts and the dishwasher starts to drain for about 5-7 seconds then shuts off and the normal light flashes again. Could this be the capacitor?
For model number MDB8959AWS2
Hello Mike, thank you for getting in touch. Yes, the issue could be most probably with the capacitor, part number PS11753080. It helps keep the motor running. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!

My kitchen aid dishwasher will not wash. It will fill with water but the jets are not spinning. Then it will drain. There is an ever so slight hum when in the wash cycle. I checked and cleaned the food chopper attached to the circulation pump. I also pulled out the circulation pump to see if anything was wrong. I got a ohm reading of 6 on the motor leads. Anything else that i can check?
For model number KUDP02CRBS1
Hi David, Thank you for the question. It might be an issue with the water level. Start the dishwasher in a regular cycle allowing the dishwasher to fill and wash for a few minutes, open the door and check the water level and temperature in the bottom of the tub. The water level in the center of the tub should be 3/4 to 1 inch deep or approximately 1/4 inch below the bottom of the heater element. The water temperature needs to be 120 degrees on the first fill of the cycle. Hope this helps!
