Has the manufacturer improved or changed the plastic blade on the auger of the ice maker? This will be the third time this part has had to be replaced. This is a very inexpensive part, but the entire assembly must be purchased. $142.67 is robbery when the entire assembly is not needed. The replacement auger should not be more than $30.00 - $40.00. I am not a pleased customer.

Hello Mike, thank you for your question. Yes, the manufacturer has improved the auger in this bucket assembly. The auger is now metal, not plastic. The newer updated part number is WPW10324090. Please contact us if the previous order was placed through us, as we have a 1 year warranty this part. If the previous part, that has broken again, was ordered through us, we will replace it. I only need the little propeller that is white plastic near the little trap door......can I buy less than the whole ice auger assembly?

Thank you for the question. Looking at the manufacture information it is showing they do not sell the individual parts tot he Ice Bucket and Auger and it is sold as all together.

The lock to my ice maker is broken & it doesn’t stay locked in. It pushes out when dispensing ice through the door. What part is needed?

The lock to open the ice bin is broke as well as the auger. How do i remove the ice bin with a broke lock. I have a new ice bin assembly unit; but, i am not able toremove the old unit. Do i just crack it with a hammer and disassemble it? Help!!

Can I buy the auger unit only? The propeller (?) on the auger has one of the two blades broken off.

The ice bucket and auger assembly unit has a metal rod that open the chute the spring on my unit appears broken will this keep it from making ice

I ordered and just received this bin with auger and thought it was an updated one with a metal auger. I had read elsewhere that that was the case. It is plastic like the old one which broke. Is one available with a metal auger?
