Touch pad inoperable and latch hande & latch broker
Disassembled inside door and replaced sensor board and latch devide and handle. I removed all the screws on the inside of the door, released the circut board(sensor board or control board) and removed each connection one at a time and pluged them one at a time into the new board. I studied the setup before I disconnected anything. Oh yes, I turned off the breaker in the basement before opening the panel on the inside of the door.

Squeezing The Handle Did Not Open The Latch
After unplugging the dishwasher, I opened the door which required more pulling effort than it should. There were 10 screws which fasten the inside panel to the door. 2 Of these are located next to the latch. I used my drill driver with a star bit. By carefully separating the panel from the door, I was able to see the inside of the latch mechanism. The plastic handle had 2 ears that had snapped off. It was fairly easy to remove the broken handle and replace it with the new one. All that was necessary then was to replace the 10 screws and tighten them. It seems to be fine now.

Plastic bezel broken
1 - Unlugged power cord.

2 - Reviewed main plastic panel to see where required screws were located.

3 - Removed 8 screws on inside stainless panel.

4 - Separated the loose panel while removing screws holding the front plastic bezel in place. Removed two screws hold latch in place.

5 - Noticed that two screws were holding the PC board down plus a retaining nub on the plastic piece. Removed screws and held PC board out of way.

6 - Pulled off plastic splash shield held down with sticky gunk.

7 - Was a little difficult keeping the front door panel separated from the inside panel while doing all the work.

8 - Installed new handle into latch device and then attached to inside of door.

9 - Put it all back together twice after forgetting to install the two PC board screws. Oops.

10 - Felt confident the repair was correct when done.

Parts arrived as promised. Web exploding details insured exact replacement part.

Broken latch handle. Washer would not start.
Replacement parts were an exact fit. This always a concern when part numbers have been replaced with a new part number. Removed torx screws from door. Separated door shell, unplugged two micro switches, removed old latch and handle, replaced with new. Previous on line advice was helpful, but repair easy and quick.

Handle Ends Broken
1. Removed the torx screws around the metal liner
2. Pulled back the metal liner being careful not to disturb the connected wires
3. Pushed scissors into the latch actuator (part that pushes into the the catch on the dishwasher cabinet) until it sprung into position to simulate closure - you can't get the handle on easily without doing this.
4. Placed the end tab of one side of the handle into the slot on the side of the latch actuator.
5. Applied pressure on the other side until it snapped into place.
6. Pulled on the handle to release the catch.
7. Replaced the torx screws.
8. Works perfectly!! (until it breaks again)

Door handle latch broken / front panel broken
Maytag repair man 1 year ago caused most of the damage after I took the front cover off - the repairman broke off most of the screws holding the front panel in place leaving me to replace the front assembly.

The repair was easy - save yourself and do it yourself vs paying someone alot of money to only make it worse in the long run...

Control Panel & Latch Handle Failure
Don't over think the process, removed module and replaced damaged parts.
Worked the first time re-assembled.
Replaced control panel and latch handle with minimum effort and time.
Needed “star bit” to remove primary screws associated with main door panel. Delayed experience when double sided tape was required to adhere protective plastic shield for electronic touch panel component.

Door lock would not engage. So since the door wouldn't lock, the dishwasher wouldn't run. (it's safety mechanism)
I removed the door panel by unscrewing the 12 allen screws and found that the handle hinges broke & latch assembly locking gear was worn down...just normal wear & tear. this diagnostic process just took 45 minutes...remove the door, identify the problem, remove the parts, reassemble the door. I then ordered the parts online.

Once the parts arrived, it took me less than 45 minutes to re-remove the door, reconnect the 4 wires to latch assembly, snap the latch handle into place, and reassemble the door.

The latch handle was broken and wouldn't open easily.
The job was a snap. The panel removed easily, it only required the right type of screw driver. The hard part was getting the new handle to fit correctly into the right spot, but that only took a few minutes.
