How to remove covers to replace oven light switch?
For model number KERC507HBS3
Hi Forrest,
Thank you for your inquiry. First and foremost, disconnect power to your appliance. Then you will open your oven door. Remove the screws securing your cook top to your stove. They are on the underside of the lip of the cook top. Once you have finished that. Close your oven door. Use a strong piece of wood or have someone hold the cook top up and out of your way (as if you were opening the top to a top load washing machine. Do not remove the main top from the oven entirely). Once you have done that, on the left hand side of your appliance you will see the door switch. Unplug it from the wiring harness inside your appliance. Then press the metal tabs on the side and push it out toward the outside of the machine. To install the new part you push it in through the front of your appliance. Then do all these steps in reverse and you are done! Good luck with your repair.
