start button on control panel inoperative
Was basically cut and dry except trying to pry the old control from the face of the panel. Why they glue it is bizarre as it has pop on posts as well. Put a small crack in the face but no big deal. I really went slow and methodical removing the control with a flat edge. When the new part came I purchased clear drying glue, basically following the factory glue pattern and let dry over night. The same for the face, it was glued to the head and followed the old glue and let dry over night. I checked difficult because of the glued parts, had they not been glued it would have been a 15 minute job and easy.

Do you send removal and replacement instructions? I did no major bending or prying but the part is very much attached to the machine. Plus any helpful hints would be appreciated.Best regards.........ron

Hi Ron, Thank you for your question. Before you begin any repair please unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet. To start you will need to remove the screws in that back of the control panel with a Phillips head screw driver. Pull the control panel out of the mounting hooks and turn it over. If you like you may take note of how the wires are installed on the back of the electronic control board or you may take a picture of it. Then use a small flat blade screw driver to release the locking tabs and disconnect the side harness plug with the blue wires from the electronic control board. Then put the control panel aside. Then disconnect all the wire harness plugs. Using the quarter inch nut driver, remove the screw securing the bracket to the electronic control board. Push on the locking tab in the middle of the bracket to release electronic control board. Place the new electronic control board in the mounting tabs on the bracket and slide it to the side until it locks. Secure the electronic control board with the screw. Refer to either your notes or the photograph you took, so you can plug the wires into the new electronic control board. Plug the harness plug with the blue wires from the control panel into the new electronic control board. Reposition the console into the mounting holes and push it back. Then secure the control panel with the screws. With the repair complete, you can plug the dryer back in to see if it works. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
