Tenant complaind that oven door gaskets were worn out.
No "repair" needed, just parts replacement. The oven door had (3) rubber-like gasket strips, held in place by metal strips at each end of the gaskets, which fit into 3/16" diameter holes in the oven frame.
The (1) gasket ordered for the "horizontal"/upper position was an exact replacement and fit like a charm.
However, the pair of (2) gaskets ordered for the "vertical"/sides position were not designed for this range and needed MODIFICATION in order to be installed. Specifically, the metal strips at the end of the gaskets were TOO WIDE to fit into the existing holes in the oven frame.
I was able to make the metal strips Using a pair of needle-nose pliers and a pair of nipper-pliers, I was able to flaten-out each of the four metal strips, cut each metal strip [basically in half], re-bend the halfed-strips into "hook" shapes, and then re-insert the metal hooks into the existing 3/16" holes.
So far, so good; no complaints from the tenant!

Heat was escaping from my oven and really heating up my house
The heat sealing strips are elastic type material with hooks on each end. I simply removed the old strips and hooked the new ones in place.
It was easier than I ever dreamed possible!
And my kitchen is now nice and cool.

needed to replace a side oven door seal
The trickiest part was making sure that the correct part was ordered. The first attempt was a failure. The seal was too long and the clips were too big.
After finding the correct part it was a breeze.

I have a 3 piece seal. Does this part include all 3pices?
For model number Cbg5010aal
Hello Art, thank you for writing. This is the Seal for just one side. The same part is used on the other side, but they are sold individually. The top Seal is unfortunately discontinued and is no longer available. We have no known replacement information in our system. We recommend you contact Maytag directly to see if they have recently released a new substitute. Please feel free to get back in touch with us to place an order if they provide a substitution part number. Thank you.
