Refrigerator door seal leaking and the beer was not getting cold.
Removed the inner door panel held on by 30 small nuts crews. Removed the old seal. Stretched new door seal onto inner door panel. Attached inner door panel and seal to inside of refrigerator door. Using a magnetic nut driver was the answer in the tight spots and the small nut screws. Everything works fine and the beer is cold again!

What is the step by step to install the gasket on the jenn air refrigerator door ? Thanks
For model number JCB2388DR
Hi Michael,
Thank you for the question. The first step is to remove all of the shelves and bins from the door. Once everything is removed you will need to remove the screws around the outside edge of the inside door panel. Once the panel is removed you can pull the old gasket off and reinstall the new gasket to panel. Once the gasket is lined up and on the panel you can reinstall the inside door panel back on to the door.
Some customers have removed the door from the appliance and laid it onto a flat surface. Some other customers loosened the screws around the inside panel but did not remove the panel completely, this allowed them to pull the old gasket off leaving a gap to insert the edge of the new gasket. It is your own preference.
Hope this helps!

On your refrigerator door seal, i have a general question. Is that rubber gasket magnetized ? The current gasket on my jenn air refrigerator door no longer "sticks" when you close it, unless you really close it firmly. How does it work ? Is there a magnet in the rubber gasket that has just lost it stick after years of use ? Will your your new gasket that i just bought from your company, have a new magnetized application to it ? Where did the ability of my old gasket and where does your new gasket get the ability to stick and create that suction when you close the door ?
For model number JCB2388DR
Hi Michael,
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, most gaskets have a magnet that helps to keep the gasket closed to the appliance. This new part would also have that. As for how your suction works it is physics: You open the door, you let warmer air in. You close the door, the air is cooled, and contracts. Thus the negative pressure and the sucking sound. That's why it's so hard to open the door immediately after you've closed it, but easier later. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
