timer bad no spin
design was on my side. the washer was structured that when you removed the screws that held down the upper timer cover, it would pivot rearward and you could gain access to the switch. you would carfully remove the knob set pin. remove knob, remove retaining screw. Slide timer sideways out of the engagement groove. remove wire connector. and with the new timer, do in reverse order. awesome site which was the ONLY site I actually found my model number for such an old washer. It even had the schematic that helped identify the assembly process. I will do business now the parts select for all my appliance needs for parts.

Shuts itself off while 6 minutes remain in wash cycle. Will not advance to drain, spin, etc.
Opened the timer compartment on top of washer by removing two screws. Pull off knobs, wiring harness, remove mounting screw. The new timer did not fix the problem. Same malfunction exists, in both regular and permanent press.

Washer fills, agitates then when it gets to the drain/spin cycle the timer stops.
Doesn't matter if it's on permanent press, delicate or heavy load it agitates and nothing more.
Is it the timer? The part number on the timer is 3953321A

My washer will fill up, agitate for a few seconds then stops, it will eventually start spinning the water out itself and then starts filling back up all while the knob is still on the agitate cycle, there is a buzzing sound behind the knob. I have replaced the door lid switch 2 years ago and again yesterday, did not help again. The timer has also been replaced within the past 2 years. Does this sound like the timer again? Thank you so much for your response.
