Worked great
Note - the video they show on the website with this part may not be a match for your door spring apparatus design (it wasn’t for mine). Part fits nevertheless. This is the second time I’ve had to replace the spring though (original lasted about 10 years, first replacement around 5), so you may want to order a couple to be on the safe side. Before installation this time, I hit it with a generous amount of silicon spray to see if that might stave off the rust-induced break for longer than 5 years this time ‘round. Fingers crossed.

Saved myself the cost of a new dishwasher!
Can't say enough good things about PartSelect.ca, the Canadian version of PartSelect.com! My order was shipped within an hour of my placing the order and was in my mailbox the next morning! I had mistakenly diagnosed my problem as a soap cup latch (and purchased one from Partselect.ca), but as soon as I removed the inner panel of the door, the broken spring was clearly the real problem. A little $7.00 spring, that was so simple to replace, saved us the $1000 we had earmarked for a new dishwasher -- we had already priced them at the local hardware store! The videos that PartSelect posts, as well as the Symptom/Part Required diagnostic chart, are exceptionally helpful. In our former house, I had the same superb service experience when I ordered a part for our dryer door two years ago. LOVE PartSelect.ca!!

Detergent Cup does not open
Disconnect power supply to dishwasher. Open door and remove screws on inner door cover. Carefully remove inner cover while watching how inner parts are arranged. Found return spring on detergent cup linkage had rusted and broken causing detergent cup not to open. Installed new spring and re assembled inner cover. Rotated timer dial one full revolution to check operation of detergent cup. Worked like a charm. Re connect power supply to dishwasher and your good to go.

Dishwasher would not dispense soap
Both springs (8066018 and 3368999) were replaced as recommended in your troubleshooting guide, but did not resolve the problem. Finally the Dual Motor, 3374501, was replaced. During the above, the plastic face of the door fell off, which created a nuisance task before proceeding to fix the original problem. However, while replacing the motor, I realized the purpose of the two, T-shaped studs sticking out of the motor. It is absolutely necessary that these sit inside the slots which engages the sliding plastic cover, which is spring loaded, in order to engage the release of the soap dispenser door. It was truly a learning experience, but I got it done.

The soap dispenser door will not open. I took the door panel off, removed the cover and verified that the plastic parts and springs appear clean and free of damage. I also cleaned out any soap debris with warm water. I reassembled the door, however the retest was unsuccessful as the soap dispenser still does not open. What have i missed?
For model number DU810DWGQ1
Hello John,
Thanks for your question. Make sure no large items in the lower rack are blocking the dispenser door from opening. The actuator could be causing this problem, part number PS392727. Though more rare, the timer may also be at fault - consider testing it with a multimeter and replacing it if it shows no continuity.
I hope this helps.

I was not having the detergent not being released. Took off the door panel, and all the pieces fell off. Found the broken spring part # ps11741264. But i have no picture to show how everything goes back and where the spring reconnects
For model number DU810SWPU3
Hello Randy, Thank you for your inquiry. The interior of the dishwasher door has to be removed (8 screws). Once removed, flip the interior cover over and remove the plastic cover which protects the detergent assembly. You will see the two tabs where the spring attaches on the lower detergent dispenser actuator assembly. Install the new spring and the protective cover. Pay attention before reassembly that the exterior door has not popped out of it's tab. If so, pop the tab in place. Reinstall interior door cover and you are finished. Hope this helps!
