Identical part without a question
Could not identify using part number, so had to go by picture. Fit and works perfectly. Quite pricey compared to another found afterwards.

Easy repair, part was an exact fit.
The 17 year old Maytag Neptune MAH5500BWW washer would not stop filling up. It turned out that the original water inlet valve failed open, mechanically. The replacement part arrived quickly and the installation was fairly easy, with help from the great instructional video on this site.

Installation facile, fonctionne parfaitement !
Le morceau commandé est arrivé beaucoup plus rapidement que le délai prévu, moins cher que ce que le réparateur m’avait dit que ca couterait. Merci !

So far so good
Received my part in a timely fashion and no damaged. It was ever so different from the original water inlet so some improvising was required. Package arrived via Purolator ground but was not delivered to my house? No attempt was made by Purolator ie knock on door or delivery notice. Had to pick up at a depot 30min drive away. Not sure if this from an economical choice from Partsdirect or simply a Purolator error/standard. Never has happened to me before from any other company I’ve ordered from. Part was different in appearance from original but it match my models compatibility according to Partsdirect site. Instructions were awesome from them, best I have ever come across. Step by step video with everything needed to tackle the job yourself. Original screw to hold valve in place was literally millimeters to short to work so I stole another screw from soap tray lid to make it work. All and all it was a good experience dealing with Partsdirect and will again if needed. Running a load through my washer now and no issues. 15min left and counting...

Easy repair that fixed my issue
Had a terrible water hammer problem. Could not figure out what was causing it until the washing machine flooded. Replaced this part in about 10 minutes and that was the end of the water hammer. Delivery was fast and the part was indistinguishable from the original. What a relief!

Water would intermittently stop flowing into machine
Unplugged power cord, turned off water and disconnected cold and hot water lines. Removed two screws on bracket at water inlet area on back of washer. removed loose bracket and removed one screw that held water control valve (hot and cold). Unplugged four clipon electrical connections (marked before removal for ease of reconnection) Used flat tip screwdriver to remove hose clip from hose that went from valve into machine. Connected four clip on electrical connections and reconnected intake washer hose to water valve. I put a tiny bit of plumbers grease on plastic valve nipple to make it easier to push nipple into rubber hose. Reattached one screw to anchor valve to metal bracket. Repositioned bracket and attached two screws that anchored it to the washer. Reconnected hot and cold water lines and turned on hot and cold water to check for leaks. Plugged in power cord and started a wash cycle to once again check for leaks before pushing machine back into place. Wife didn't think I was "talented" enough to fix the washer, but I proved her wrong.

The washer was stating NF code in the panel. It was not refilling for the rinse cycle. I had to manually press the button.
Turn the washer to the back. Unscrew the upper right corner water inlet valve. Take it out then replace it with new valve. Then turn your washer on and it will work just like brand new !!!!

Had a leak at the top of one of the valve
Ordered the new part from Part Select had very prompt shipment (2 days) printed out someone elses review and followed their steps and it was even easier than they had written so if you get this part simply print the only other "steps" listed because their correct. The only addition i would say is you can use a "nut driver" for the screws as well as the hose clamp which makes it simpler, and definitely mark where you remove the connections so they go back in the same location. Also it may be advisable to remove the big "drum cover" to get easier access to the water hose since it's a little short and difficult to get back on the new valve through the inlet valve hole.It should take you about 15 min to do

I stripped the plastic threads on the old water inlet and so I had to replace it.
Unscrew the screws holding the soap/bleach/fabric softner in place. Unscrew the door hinges.Unscrew the white plastic clips that are to the right of the door. These hold the front of the washer in place. Once these are removed, you can pull the front of the washer away from the door opening. It leans out from the top and you can remove the entire piece from the clips that hold it in place at the bottom. Then you can unscrew the screws to the top left and top right that hold the top of the washer in place. Once these screws are removed, you can lift up the top of the washer and lean it back revealing the water inlet valve w/thermister. All the electrical connections are easy clip off/clip on. The hose clamp is the typical screw type.

water continued to fill up in the washer when it wasn't being used
I was able to open up the top lid on the washer to gain access to the water inlet valve. I changed it out and now water doesn't continue to fill up the washer when it isn't being used. Problem solved. Great video on how to gain access to the water inlet valve.

Hot water temperature was not heating up the water coming into the washer
Followed the online PARTS SELECT video up to the point of installing the 1/4 inch screw from the inlet valve bracket to the to the bracket housing, couldn’t get the holes to line up. I found it easier by removing the bracket from the back of the washer (2- 1/4 inch screws & holding it in my hand I was able to line up the holes & connect it. Everything went fine after that & I completed the installation. Now the hot water is heating up & working good. The online video is very helpful.

My washer would fill up with water without it running could it be the water inlet valve
For model number mah5500b
Hello Edwin, Thank you for your inquiry. It could be, the other part I would test would be the switch-WL (water level), you can test both of these with a multimeter. Hope this helps!

Washing machine is turned off. Sometimes clear water is found in bottom of tub.
For model number MAH6500AWW
Hello Doug, Thank you for the question. This is normally an indication the Water Inlet Valve is stuck open allowing water through and drips into the tub. The Valve will need to be replaced. We hope this helps!

When the water is shut off, (to do repair job on line) and then turn back on my washer fills up and overflows. I come home to flooded floors. Does part 30 fix this problem?

When the washer uses the cold water cycle, the water comes in very slow. Hot and warm fill as it's supposed to. My first inclination is the water inlet valve is malfunctioning. Thoughts?
For model number MAH5500BWW
Hi Larry, thank you for your question. That would be the first part to check. It does sound like it is the water inlet valve that is the issue. You can test it with a multi meter to make sure the cold water solenoid is working correctly. The only other things that I could think of would be to check the cold water inlet hose and that the cold water from the home is flowing appropriately. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

When selecting cold or hot wash sometimes instead of cold wash it’s a hot wash and vice versa but not all the time, also it does the rinse in hot instead of cold, not all the time. Can you tell me why please and thank you.
For model number MAH6500AWW
Hello Reno, Thank you for the question. Normally this is an indication the Temperature Switch is faulty and not setting the correct temperatures. For this model the Temperature Switch is built into the Electronic Control Board, so the Board will need to be replaced. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Will this part solve the issue of water not entering
the “ softener/bleach dispenser? I’ve replaced the
distribution valve & that did not solve the problem.
For model number mah6500aww
Hi Jeff, thank you for reaching out. Yes, the part that you mentioned can solve the issue of water not entering the softener and bleach dispenser. We would recommend checking the dispenser and water lines for clogging before replacing this part. If these are fine, you may need to replace the water inlet valve, part number PS11739466. We hope this solves your problem!
